Conservatives to enlist for Iran?
We all know millions of chickenshit chickenhawk conservatives had other priorities and just couldn't get around to actually doing something relative to the Iraq War, like enlisting. But a new opportunity presents itself; war in Iran led by the military deserting, substance abusing, corporate criminal hero to chickenhawks from coast to coast. The reason for, and the location of any war is irrelevent to chickenhawks as long as dubya is "out front" leading the charge?!?!?!

So please, stock up on those ever popular enlistment forms. Stop by an Army recruiting office and get some business cards, and offer to give any proud, flag waving American a ride to the recruiters office.

Surely they won't pass up the opportunity to serve their country again! Surely I jest???

Egg the mother fuckers on, starting right now.

1. I agree with you
I am really worried about the troops on the ground in Iraq. If Bush starts a war in Iran, I could see our troops caught between an Iranian army and outraged Iraqi Shias.

I am sick and tired of "John Wayne soldiers". Wayne didn't serve in the military, but he talked a tough talk, same as these folks.

2. Whats sad we won't have to
there will be a draft. Whats really sad is the rich will get off some how and the poor and middle class like my son will have to go.

3. (Laugh)
One of my more uber-left wing friends last year joined the Army Reserve at the age of 39, and went though basic a week after her 40th birthday. Because she's got her BA and MA, (and is a Ph.D. candidate), they may even wave the age limit and give her a shot at becoming an Officer.

She said two of the things she's most amused by was the DI's pointing to her and telling the 20 somethings "If grandma there can do it, so can you!!", and the sheer joy she gets out of rubbing a NeoCon's nose in the fact she joined up, and *always* offers to drive said NeoCons down to the recruiters, gives them the recruiters cards, etc.

Watching them do a duck and run when faced with a lefty trying to recruit them into the service she said gives her a certain amount of glee and moral superiority.
