What is Dick Hiding?
For all my Michiganders out in DU world -

Dick Devos, the Republican candidate for Governor of Michigan, is a millionaire with an identity complex. He comes from a family of millionaires, and the yacht that he owns proves that he's a millionaire -- but he's afraid to admit it to the people of Michigan. He refuses to disclose his tax returns.

Dicky wants to be seen as a "normal" guy fighting for you and me. Well, normal guys have nothing to hide on their taxes. So why is he hiding his tax returns? Could it be because all the laid off workers, all the families struggling to pay their gas bills, all the young adults that can't afford to go to college will then get to see for themselves that Dicky makes more money than GOD??

So much for being normal.

I, for one, am sick and tired of out-of-touch millionaires running for office, trying to represent ME! Michigan needs real representation, by real people. That's why we've got to keep Governor Jennifer Granholm in office!!!

1. I've always thought that elected officials ...
... should be paid a middle-class type of salary while in office, the condition being that they MUST live on that amount of money while in office, and cannot tap into personal funds for the duration.

This would serve two purposes:
(1) It keeps a senator, congressman, mayor, etc. in touch with what his constituents are dealing with financially on a day-to-day basis.

(2) It keeps the multimillionaires, who 'play' at politics and have no idea what the common man's life is like, from ever WANTING to run for office in the first place.

Just MHO ...
