A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, Tracey Schmitt,
attacked Gore's comments shortly after address.

"Al Gore's incessant need to insert himself in the headline of the day is almost as glaring as his lack of understanding of the threats facing America," Schmitt said. "While the president works to protect Americans from terrorists, Democrats deliver no solutions of their own, only diatribes laden with inaccuracies and anger. "

Does anyone else get the feeling that this woman has her head so far up her ass that she can taste her own hair??? Are there really people this retarded still left in the world?? Bush is a terrorist... who is going to protect us from HIM?????

1. But... isn't this kind of response..
.. exactly what Gore referred to in his speech?

IOW, what's happened to reasoned debate....

The only salvation comes from we the people, as Gore
also pointed out.

2. Attack the Messenger, ignore the message.
It's the Republican Way. Her response only proves Gore's point.

3. Oh, those HEADLINE grabbers!
"Al Gore's incessant need to insert himself in the headline
of the day ..."

What about the Republicans who are 'inserting themselves' into the headlines every day, to whit:

"FRIST under investigation for securities fraud ..."

"FRIST under investigation for charitable organization scam ..."

"DeLAY indicted ..."

"LIBBY indicted ..."

"ABRAMOFF pleads guilty ..."

"CUNNINGHAM looking at prison term ..."

... to be continued.

and please do continue! we can make a good list of "headline grabbers" and send them to her... or better yet, go to http://www.gop.com and send letters to the editor which are critical of the misadministration and repugs in general.

9. damn it, why do people insist on using that degrading term
I don't like what she says but she's paid to do it. Just as the DNC has talking heads. But why use that term???

It's absolutely insulting - and no woman deserves that!

15. Schmitthead couldn't attack Gore on the issues
so she resorted to the standard repuke tactic: attack the messenger.

16. Discussing the issues, pro or con, means to use the brain
The last thing the GOP wants is for people to think, preferring instead fear mongering to get us distracted.

Now let's talk about Iran's H-bomb and death rays!
