WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, and House Democratic Caucus Chairman James Clyburn sent a letter to President Bush today urging him to release $101 million for low income home heating assistance and send Congress a supplemental appropriations request to increase funding to the full $5.1 billion authorized for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Isn't that the really important thing? :sarcasm: I'm wondering how warm their hate has kept those who voted for repukes because of anti-gay bigotry.

6. If Bush can find the money to give the rich tax cuts then he can damn well
find the money to help those with low income heat their homes!

Some are predicting that NY will run out of HEAP funds by the end of this month. More people who normally would not ask for help are desparate enough to be applying... and even when they do get help it's not nearly enough to pay for a Winter's worth of heat at the current heating oil prices (about $2.50 gal in NNY and many normally will go though a tank, 250 gals, per month even being frugal). I'm fairly sure that other northern states are probably experiencing similar difficulties.

No one should go without basic necessities like clean water... food... heat... medical care or have to choose between those necessities... no one.
