My E-Mail To Senator Byrd......

I live in Washington State and decided to express my concerns to Sen. Byrd as follows.

************************************

Senator Byrd,

I ask that you consider retracting your support for Sam Alito for S.C.Justice. With all due respect if you wish to vote for Alito I ask that you never quote from the Constitution nor hold up your mini version of it in the Senate Chambers.

Our country's future depends on this vote.

1. Good on you for trying
It still remains to be seen what Byrd would do if the dems mount a filibuster. Will he actually throw his lot in with the Repigs?

2. I emailed him too
I own a house in WV so I emailed him as a constituent. I bet he got a LOT of angry emails. I was stunned to hear he was going to vote yes! Glad you emailed him too.

6. I e-mailed him and told him it isn't enough for a SC Justice to love
his country and his Constitution. A Supreme Court Justice needs to love the American people and to interpret the Constitution so as to protect Americans' civil rights.

My view (which I did not tell Byrd): Alito is a hypocrite when it comes to loving the constitution. He talks love but he is quite willing to cheat on the American people.
