2006.....The Year of Impeachments......

Could this just be the year for the Impeachments of bush/cheney for lying us into war and spygate and many other things and perhaps the impeachment of Alito if confirmed for lying under oath during the hearings.

Strage things do happen.....

1. Not unless we win,
and win big, in November.

Otherwise, we're just fartin' in the wind.

17. OK, since you asked.
We are now, in the Alito hearings, seeing the effect of losing elections. For purposes of this argument, It doesn't matter how or why we lost them, so talk of stolen elections is irrelevant to the point. Not that I'm disagreeing that they were stolen, mind you.

But the Rs are in, the Dems are out. Alito will go in. Who may leave the Court before the end of W's term? Ginsburg, maybe.

So, we either "win" in November, or we can expect more of the same. No amount of protests, letter writing, posting on DU, or whatever, will affect the negative results of a Repuke win. I don't know if they will win or not,: I have some hopes for the Dems.

When did logic go out of style?

That answer your question, Grasshopper?

4. It's morning. Time to wake up from dreaming.
Republicans have the majority. Republicans do NOT impeach Republican.

At this point, it doesn't look like there will be a filibuster. If we can't even mount a filibuster, how can we get a conviction by impeachment? A conviction by impeachment requires 2/3 MAJORITY in the senate.

9. I am an argument against that thought.
I am a Republican, here on DU because I feel my party, under the leadership of the Neocons, no longer supports what should be the Republican platform.

I support the impeachment of the Bush White House. I feel he has abused the power of his office, has lied to the American people, has knowingly driven us to war under false pretenses, and has violated the laws of our nation and our Constitution by ordering the NSA wiretaps without FISA warrants.

I believe there are 2 types of Republicans in the House today. Those who value what Republicans used to stand for, and are capable of recognizing the corrupt nature of this White House. And those who have embraced that corruption in hopes of personal gain. I believe the former group can be drawn into support of impeachment, and the latter deserve tar and feathering along with this whole WH cabal.

I agree with one of the posts below. I think Bush will be impeached by Spring, 2006.

15. I wish.
Actually, no I don't. I'm not well suited for positions like that. I've an awkward combination of being highly conflict averse and unrealistically idealistic. Ah well.

I also live in a largely Blue state, so most of my Reps would likely be onboard this issue.

And thank you for showing us the true nature of the problems in this country.

Republicans aren't the problem, corruption is the problems and we have it in both parties. I think there are still republican members of congress that care more about our country than Bushco, and are waiting for the opposition party-the democratic party- to act so that they can join the opposition. This is also why the opposition party needs to push for impeachment so that we can see who is corrupt and who is a true patriot BEFORE the elections. The 'elections' are fixed at this point anyhow, and how does anyone think the democrats will win seats if they don't start fighting and becoming a real opposition.

Public pressure is really high right now, it is no time to be a defeatist. We must push for what we want NOW! Everyday people are dying. Everyday the psychos in our government think of new ways to kill people. We have a moral obligation to stop the madness now!

5. He Will Be Impeached By March 31, 2006
And it will not come from the war against Iraq, it will come as a result of Senate Judiciary Committee hearings which will begin in about 2 weeks. The findings of that Committee will force the House to act on Impeachment proceedings.

Sorry to be so morbid, but no one knows the future with any certainty at all.

18. Hope you're right,,
but I have doubts.

Congress is controlled by the Rs. The media is controlled by the Rs. W's base does not care about spying on "foreigners who are trying to kill us".

Unless we win in 2006, win big, we will have to live with Bush till 2008.

But I hope I'm wrong.

12. 07 is the year. If we win we impeach. If not we serve impeachment articles
If Bush isn't impeached in 2007...or if he isn't at least served with articles of impeachment (something we can do regardless of whether we have a majority or not), then my faith in the party will be all but shot.

16. I'm with the '07' crowd. BushCo can and will stall citing CLASSIFIED all
the way.

I just hope there will be such a landslide victory for Dem's/Liberals come election time that vote switching becomes impossible.

Almost exactly one year from now we will be on the road to impeachment, but the administration will STILL be crying CLASSIFIED so I expect the difficulties to continue even then.

This country is in big trouble. Unfortunately, we have already given too much power to the cabal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... IF we can overcome our neglect, BushCo will have to be dragged from the WH kicking and screaming like the spoiled, arrogant children they are!
