4) Tom Kenney arrives in NYC late in the evening of 9/10/11. He tells Dan Rather on live TV that his FEMA crew were in the city for an emergency disaster preparedness drill to be conducted the following morning. FEMA denies this claiming that Kenney is mistaken . FEMA insists that the crew arrived in resonse to the events of 9/11. Mayor Rudoph Guliani , testifying before the 9/11 Commission, sided with Kenney’s version of events

while filming the towers from atop a van on the Brooklyn (?) Bridge. Someone called in after seeing thse guys filming and "dancing" atop a mover's van.
These were Israeli citizens with Mossad ID. Immediately released from custody.
The owner of the moving company disappeared only to show up in Israel later.
These are "knowns".
What is also "known" is that an Admiral connected with US Intel was later quoted as saying "Israeli involvement in 9/11 is classified and we have no comment" or words pretty much to that effect.

I am no tin-hatter but have followed this enough to know that everything in that list is a matter of record.

I so wish none of it was true.

Israel would have everything to lose being identified as being involved with 9/11 (either as an active participant or having pre-knowledge of the attacks). Point (5) reminds me of the long-since-disproven claim that the Jews were given warning of 9/11 and did not report to work that day in the Towers. Your Admiral might have been quoted out of context.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence, so the old saying goes. We know who did 9/11: a cell of about 20 members of al Qaeda; a terrorist organization that was an offshoot of a coalition of Islamic fighters assembled by the Saudis, the Pakistanis and the US to fight the Russians in Afghanistan (in the 1980s). There was no direct state involvement in 9/11 (the Bush administration tried to claim Iraq was involved, but this is no longer regarded as credible).

We know al Qaeda is responsible for several reasons:

• One, they had the motive: As early as 1996, they declared war on the US, giving six specific grievances (our support of Israel, our propping up of repressive, corrupt regimes in the Middle East, our plundering of their oil wealth, etc).
• Two, 9/11 was actually the third or fourth major terrorist operation by this organization (following the 1998 embassy bombings in Africa and the attack on the USS Cole in 2000). An earlier plot to destroy 12 airliners over the Pacific was disrupted by the Philippines.
• And three, al Qaeda, including bin Laden himself, have publicly acknowledged responsibility for 9/11.

The only thing the Bush people did (or their neocon supporters and allies, including perhaps some Israelis) was exploit the tragic events to further their own pre-existing agenda to "do" Iraq. To my mind, this is heinous enough.

It just happened because of their incompetence, but they were still smart enough to use it to their advantage. Heinous enough I agree!

Of course one needs to believe much of the official story about the 20 bad eggs from Saudi Arabia and the whole Bin Laden Boogeyman scenario.

In addition to what we have previously reported about heightened security at the World Trade Center itself in the weeks leading to the attack and at the Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway, New Jersey, CounterPunch has also learned that an internal memo was sent around Goldman Sachs in Tokyo on September 10 advising all employees of a possible terrorist attack. It recommended all employees to avoid any American government buildings.
