Elmendorf, Oliver Open Bipartisan Lobbying Shop

By Chris Cillizza, Roll Call Staff

Two senior political strategists from opposite sides of the partisan divide are joining forces to create a powerhouse lobby shop and corporate consulting firm.

Steve Elmendorf, the longtime chief of staff to then-Rep. Richard Gephardt (D-Mo.), and former Republican National Committee Deputy Chairman Jack Oliver will head up Bryan Cave Strategies, a subsidiary of the St. Louis-based law firm by the same name.

“If you want to do anything in Washington, you have to have access to both sides,” Elmendorf said in an interview Tuesday. “You not only need to know how the parties work but also the of the administration versus Congress.”

“We want to work on a bipartisan basis for the people of Missouri and their interests,” Oliver echoed.

So now we know why the Washington Dems serve us shit soup every election. Hopefully Kerry is no longer listening to this jagoff.

DU to Elmendoof: Fuck off ya fuckin' RNC mole.

2. I posted a story about this right after Kerry lost. The story talked
about all the repukes who were working at the firm that worked his campaign. It really figures when you look back on the whole thing.

6. I remember reading a story
that there were a lot of republicans who changed to the democratic party after Bush came to town. They still believe in the republican policies (traditional republican policies that is) but they didn't like Bush's style so they left and now call themselves democrats. I hope Kerry doesn't use these people anymore either.

3. This Dude Should Become A Lobbyist
The problem is by maginfying what this asshat says or picking fights with him in the corporate media, it gives him credibility he doesn't deserve. Hopefully we remember the name and be sure that if he's associated with any campaign, not only does the checkbook get slammed shut, but the candidate is told exactly why. Lie with dogs, wake up with fleas. Good riddence to this and other similar garbage.
