Poll: Many Iraqis support attacks on US troops
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 03:51 PM by EVDebs
This new poll tanks the Republican's 'talking points' on the Iraqi insurgency, with them repeating over and over that it is mainly foreign fighters etc. etc.

New WPO Poll: Iraqi Public Thinks US Plans Permanent Bases in Iraq
Iraqis Want Timetable for US Withdrawal
Half of Iraqis Approve of Attacks on US Forces, Including 9 Out of 10 Sunnis

This is backed up by the Quaker's weblink to
"If the U.S. is ultimately leaving Iraq, why is the military building 'permanent' bases?"

Bush's war plans for Iraq seem identical to Nixon's plans for Saudi Arabia during the '70s

British spies warned of U.S. plans to invade Arab states

with a plotline identical to the movie Three Days of the Condor.

The only way out now, evidently, is the realization that Amory Lovin's book The Oil Endgame www.oilendgame.com is correct, that conservation in the selfevident fact that oil is being depleted at a rate that will result in a world without oil within about 25 years:

The arithmetic isn't Republican or Democratic, 1 trillion barrels of world reserves of oil vs. daily consumption currently at 84 million barrels (and soon to go to an estimated 120 million barrels per day).

It was all about oil with a veneer of 'bringing Democracy to the Muslim world'. The P.R. people should have left this turkey long ago and treated EVERYONE to the real facts. In 25 years, if no armageddon has begun by then over those last drops of oil, the Muslim world will have what it wants, a part of the world devoid of a Western presence. The West will de facto have abandoned the Muslim world --sans oil --to its own devices.
