Ron Paul, Republican laying the smack down on CSPAN live.
This guy is my new favorite Republican. Telling it like it is about the eroding middle class and the corporate whores and wasteful spending.

6. What?!? Are you familiar with Rep. Paul?
Have you noticed that Rep. Ron Paul has been speaking out against the Bush administration and the Washington establishment for the longest time. He originally ran as a Libertarian and when he lost he ran again as a Republican. He won then...

8. Sorry, I just read that Bruce Willis is reviewing his party affiliation.
Two in five minutes felt like a trend, after what we've been through.

4. Ron Paul is my answer whenever a puke asks if I like any other pukes
He has jumped ship for some time. In a way, he represents the free-thinking old timey Texans I grew up admiring. Then all the dang yuppies invaded the sunbelt and made Texas republican neo-con land

7. Hogwash...
Ron Paul is a Libertarian who ran as a Republican to win. He's a maverick Republican for that reason alone.

12. actually, texas, like the rest of the south was slow to switch....
....from dem to repuke even though the parties had switched their stances on civil rights. while there are some free thinking texans, most are redneck bush suckers. the mainly democratic areas are urban austin, and the urban areas in cities like houston and dallas where there are large african american populations. the rural areas and smaller cities tend to be more repuke. has nothing to do with yuppies. it's the south and when the dixiecrats were still floating around down there the democratic party was still strong. like everywhere else in the south, the rednecks finally figured out their party had become the repuke party. hell, zell miller only just figured it out a couple years ago.

9. As many others noted
Ron Paul is a Libertarian who runs as a Republican solely to win. He was also the 1988 Libertarian Presidential candidate. While it is nice that our Libertarian friends are as appalled by the Bush administration as we are, do not make the mistake that they stand for the same things we do. Most big L Libertarians worship at the altar of the free market and are opposed to Bush programs such as social security privatization only in that they don't go far enough. These are the people who would have total private ownership of all roads, fire departments and schools.

You also need to make the distinction between big L Libertarians and small l libertarians which is short for libertarian socialism and is a catch-all category for quite a few far left ideologies such as Chomsky and Zinn's anarcho-syndicalism.
