5. I am crying
because when I looked into the eyes of those crying, those hurt, I saw my eyes. We are all one-and to hurt another is to hurt ourselves. Is this so hard to understand?

7. The sad thing is
when I demonstrated against going to war, I saw the faces of those who would die, those who would suffer if we invaded. At the same time, I felt the hatred and insanity of those who taunted us, those who cried that Bush was the Second Coming of Christ. I felt as if we peace workers were being carried by a tsunami away, far away, from the ideals upon which our nation was founded. I still regret that our words and demonstrations were not enough to stop this horror before it got started.
