I wonder how sheriff in Kenedy County TX gets their job
Are they elected? Are they appointed elected? Are they appointed? Do they pay to get the job? Or some other way?

2. I recall reading on another thread
that the county only has about 400 residents. Pretty sure everybody knows everybody, so elections are probably a formality at best.

4. That was what I figure would be the case
Also read that Kenedy County was split off and it doesn't appear that the history is anything to crow about.

Of course, all the land in the USA (outside of reservations) was stolen from someone else. But that "history" is usually conviently forgotten.

Kerry/Edwards carried it in 2004 with 85 votes to Bush/Cheney 82!
