I sure hope so, cause I really, really want him to run again. I trust and admire him more than anybody I've ever encountered on the political scene. I know that it will be a great sacrifice for he and Gert, but I sincerely hope they will take up the challenge one more time. We need the General more than ever.

2. I don't know about the draft
but he's keeping his profile up and is very active in the political process now. I hope he runs but if he doesn't then I'll be glad to continue to support him with his pac.

3. Clark told reporters last fall that he would "likely" run in 2008, so I
expect to see him out there in Iowa and up in New Hampshire a lot.

Red voters experience indecision and even trauma when confronted by the example of an esteemed and decorated war general who is a) a Democrat and b) telling them that Dubya is a jackass.

The Democratic Party is well-served by General Clark.

I hope Clark runs again in 2008. What about that concept do you find hard to understand?

16. No - I adore Clark - I voted for himin the '04 primaries
even though, by the time they got to Florida, Kerry was in. I just finished reading a Clark thread with the usual Clark bashing/adoring. I thought maybe your thread was satire. Thats all, sorry.

5. Recently he has said
that it does a disservice to the 06 to be running for 08 now. He really means that...he was very emphatic about it. He said that if we fail to take back at least one house of congress, the loss of the courts will pale in comparison to what will happen to the country. He intends to work his butt off for 06. He believes that the money needs to go to the 06 candidates, and for the message to be united that candidates for 08 need to stay out for now.

Personally, I think he is very worried about the Constitution, democracy itself.

9. I understand. But we all know he waited too long to get in the race
last time. I hope he doesn't make that mistake again. But I also know that to take the plunge a second time, he and Gert need to know they have a lot of support. Sooner or later I assume a group will coalesce to let them know he's got that support.

10. Paul may be the best member of congress (w/Conyers) at telling
it like it is about the neocons, but he has two problems. 1. He is not well known. 2. He is a Republican! (I know he is really a Libertarian)

While Paul is no lefty, we could learn a thing or 70 about how to stand up to bullies from him! I like him. But Clark is my pick for '08.

13. Problem with Clark
Didn't he admit to authorizing the flight of a private plane to evacuate a bunch of Saudis after 9-11. Doesn't that make him part of the MIHOP/LIHOP conspiracy? Just askin. Have you seen 911 Loose change?

25. ok i'll try a simpler form of communication
since metaphors are lost on you.

There's no point discussing a 2008 federal election. Diebold is in charge.

probably there will be martial law before and the charade of democracy abolished alltogheter anyway.

26. Then please help!
THIS IS EASY. YOU CAN DO IT. YOU MUST DO IT.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FIRST
Here is your contact list for the Rules Committee, you need not be Californian: Urge support for subpoenas of election industry and certification insiders who didn't testify on the 16th.
IT'S ONLY 5 CALLS/ EMAILS
Senator Don Perata (Chair) D
(916) 651-4009
District office (510) 286-1333
Senator.Perata@sen.ca.gov
Senator Jim Battin (Vice-Chair) R
(916) 651-4037
Jim.Battin@sen.ca.gov
Senator Roy Ashburn R
(916) 651-4018
senator.ashburn@sen.ca.gov
Senator Debra Bowen D
EMAIL ONLY Debra@debrabowen.com - (Ms. Bowen is mounting this case and will be busy preparing, emails are welcomed-- See below*)
Senator Gilbert Cedillo D
(916) 651-4022
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SECOND- What to say:

Be concise, be polite, be professional. Here's your message: ask for "Rules Committee support for subpoenas of election industry and certification insiders who won't otherwise inform the Elections Committee as to what's going on".

The key people: Diebold head programmers, federal testing labs (Ciber, Wyle) that repeatedly certified these flawed systems, voting system examiners who took taxpayer money, spent hours on so-called "security exams" on systems your 12-year old sister can hack, then repeatedly recommended for certification.

This is about volume of calls logged, emails sent. Not only should YOU make calls, but this needs to go out to your list.

Polite, professional, short clear message, FIRM is what works. Your passion and conviction will speak volumes.

Once subpoenas go out, that will have nationwide impact. Never before have the key witnesses had to answer questions under oath in public. That will unravel the garment, and we are so close. Demonstrate that the citizenry of America wants those guys compelled to testify, with subpoena power, under oath. Per Bev Harris..."Perjury will follow". It's our best shot that is achievable before the critical Nov. elections.

27. "Draft"? He's running
Any groundswell is icing on the cake. If he and his supporters need some kind of ginned-up grass-roots call from the masses to revive the myth of the reluctant hero, they've missed the boat by four years.

The man obviously wants to run; let him run.

Here's to hoping he sees it that way also! :toast:

Seems lots of people here believe he IS running. I must have missed something, cause I've never assumed that. In fact, I've become somewhat gloomy about that prospect. But, if he is, I want him to announce early and have a looooong time to build the momentum, not to mention the coffer I know he has to wait until after November, but not much longer, please, Wes.

35. Clark knows about his supporters, but he wants us to focus on 2006
That's the simple truth of it. More than most National Democrats, Clark stays in close touch with grassroots supporters. He's held special events with us, he blogs with us on his web site. The simple fact that Clark always kept a community blog up at his site for supporters to use, even after he pulled out of the 2004 race and began working for Kerry, attests to that.

Clark knows we want him to run, and he WILL seriously consider it AFTER the 2006 Elections. Check out this kos blogging from yesterday by two female vets running for Congress. I was alerted to the blog by a clark supporter email:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/2/19/14588/5975

If you haven't already heard it, you should listen to this audio of a speech that Clark just gave for a fund raiser for Democratic Candidates in Los Angeles. Very Powerful stuff about the need to take back Congress and our nation:
