We were hopeful when Libby was indicted. We were excited when
DeLay was indicted. We were excited when Abramoff pled guilty. Now it appears nothing is happening and that nothing will. I say this because it is taking a long time and Rove changed the rules by having the prosecutor "promoted" off the case. The Libby thing is stalled until 2007 and they are talking about Fitzgerald's appointment being unconstitutional. Guess how the justice department/Supreme Court will handle that. DeLay? In Texas? It is a joke. He will be re-elected in November.

1. Only if he cheats
It "appears" nothing is happening. Doesn't mean nothing is happening.

4. Ahhh.....they say that Fitzgerald works on his own time table...
he is methodical.........he is patient....and he is thorough...

We live in a time of instant gratification and we want to see results "Now".

Fitgerald is still working....be patient...

And I don't think that Delay will be re-elected....

5. Yep - I agree
Roberts on the Supreme Court. Alito on the Supreme Court. But, hey, so what, there is going to be a Libby trial in 2007! After the mid-term elections. Or, wait, maybe there won't even be a trail. I agree - too much celebrating over trivial things (in a larger political sense - not that lying is okay) - and fantasies about things that are just never going to happen. Things will turn in the long run, but is is going to be a long run.

8. As I wrote in a personal article recently, people want........
.....to believe the government is doing their bidding while they (the average person) goes about running their own life. So yes, you're right people (including myself) are VERY SLOW to wake up to the truth. Even when they do wake up they have to go through almost a death like experience, because that truth is not at all pleasant so it takes time to sink in. One thing I've come to understand with my own experience, thanks to DU O8), is that I and everyone of us can help others through that death like experience by just repeating the truth to them over and over again. Yes, we are going to get blue in the face :eyes: doing it but it is also our only hope for change.

So don't start feeling like it's a lost cause just yet because there is one more thing people are waiting on. They are waiting for a REAL STATESMAN or STATESWOMAN to stand up and lead us into the future and out of this mess. At the moment people don't have that person in site yet.
