Coulter Too Toxic for Michigan Repubs?

Claim is Coulter has 2 booking agents who didn't compare calendars and booked her for two events, Michigan and Florida, on same day.

Chris Meyer immediately bought 10 more tickets to the Kent County Republican Party's Lincoln Day Dinner -- once he heard commentator Ann Coulter backed out of her March 16 commitment as keynote speaker.

Meyer, a Grand Rapids attorney and Republican candidate for state House, protested Coulter's scheduled appearance by telling supporters on his campaign Web site he planned to leave the event after dinner and before Coulter's speech.

Some didn't accept the explanation of Coulter's scheduling conflict. Lana Boldi, the former Democratic Party Chairwoman who criticized the choice of Coulter for the event, had her own theory.

"I suspect high-level candidates put the pressure on (party officials) to come up with a reason to pull her," Boldi said. "It would have been just too embarrassing for candidates. They were fearful it would affect their ability to fundraise and to get the votes because people would be so turned off."

She added: "Whatever reason they give, I'm simply pleased she's not coming to this area, because I think we're bigger than that."

she spoke at Western Michgian University....there were about as many supporters as opponents.....she also angered local media when she refused to let her speech be taped or recorded in any way. one cameraman started taping anyway and Coulter stopped until he turned his camera off and/or left!

The general, voting public notices when someone like Mann is hired for big bucks to stands in front of your group to make "humorous" suggestions-- like that a member of the Supreme Court should be murdered for political gain.

NEW YORK Universal Press Syndicate columnist Ann Coulter "joked" during a Thursday speech that liberal Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens should be poisoned. "We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Ark. "That's just a joke, for you in the media."

She made other "off-color" jokes about liberal Supreme Court justices that made the audience "squeal," according to an article today in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
