DU THIS POLL!! MSNBC Academy Awards/Political Poll

The headline makes you think that it's just some poll asking if you're going to watch the Academy Awards, but then it devolves into a survey of whether it's ok for Hollywood to make gay films, if it's ok to make a political acceptance speech, if movies reflect American values. Surprisingly, it's a Zogby poll. Which makes me think it's going to be broadcast as a scientifically valid survey, despite the fact that it's an INTERNET POLL!! Internet polls always suck, because I can come here and get like minded people to come to the web site and take the poll and skew the results.

The question about the number of gay themed movies nominated being because a) hollywood's values or b) america's increased tolerance of alternate lifestyles. I don't think tolerence has increased in this country the last few years. I think these movies were made because they are trying to fight a decrease in tolerance.

I got a kick out of who would you call to babysit your kids. I answered George Clooney. My kids are 20 & 22. Out of Reese witherspoon, Michelle Williams, Matt Dillon or Clooney, he would be more fun to have visit my house.

Me too, mine are 20 and 22 also but I would welcome Mr. Clooney anytime. That was an odd question.

Question must be left over from some Bush likeability poll.

Although a better option would have been Reese Witherspoon watching the kids, while George and I... :evilgrin:

So what the fuck is a question like that supposed to mean?

Who the hell runs this poll now? Is it 'Focus on Family' or something?
Are they going to lynch Heath Ledger?

And hopefully MSNBC doesn't get the results I'm sure they're hoping for.
