Fourth Indictment Expected In Phone-Jamming Case

Prosecutors Won't Say Who Will Be Indicted

CONCORD, N.H. -- Federal prosecutors said this week that they intend to indict a fourth person in the investigation of the jamming of Democratic get-out-the-vote lines in 2002.

Former state Republican Executive Director Chuck McGee pleaded guilty to devising the idea of jamming Democratic phone lines on Election Day 2002. Telemarketer Allen Raymond pleaded guilty to executing the plan.

Former national party activist Jim Tobin was found guilty of bringing the players together.

"Frankly, I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel yet," Democratic analyst Colin Van Ostern said. "It really wasn't one or two people conspiring on this plot. It was several people to win the election. This is a serious offense."
