It kills me to say this - but that includes the good Doctor Dean. Oh, oh that really did hurt me to say that - but.. anyway

I wonder if some of his ability to speak so well comes from his being a minister. Has he ever actually been the minister of a church? I really did enjoy his speech. He has some good ideas. It will be a shame if some of his talents are not put to good use in the new administration.

10. He said (again) that he'd dump Greenspan. The next day, Dean said

HE would dump Greenspan. The media, who have paid no attention when Al has said it, went wild over it when it came out of Dean's mouth, even speculating on whether it would affect the market.

12. I was referring to his debate answer, when he confused the
Federal Reserve with the IMF. It was pretty embarrassing, considering he's so astute in other areas.

15. Yes, he said he would replace Greenspan. They asked him about the Fed

and he started talking about the IMF, then said in reference to the Fed that he would replace Greenspan, as he has said before.

Then the next day, Dean metooed him.

4. I watched that, too.
Al Sharpton is good because he just uses plain good old common sense. I truly liked what he had to say.

5. Though Al doesn't have a chance, I wonder
how we can keep him around? He is one of the quickest wits around. He can make a point that's funny and dead serious at the same time. I had avoided him because of the Tawana thing, but after hearing him on the debates and interviews, I've forgotten all about that anymore.

7. Yes.... his preaching skills are honed to allow him to excel
at the immensely understandable soundbyte, witicism, allegory....

I think he has served a very important role in this campaign cycle. He sharpens the others, that's for sure. He's needed, though for his continuous commentary now and in the future, and to advocate for rights of the oppressed. He won't be President-- at least no time in the predictable future, but that doesn't mean he won't make an invaluable impact by running.

8. The man is just incredible.
His "shadow inauguration" during the illegal installation of *, was a masterpiece of oratory. I would love to get a video tape of that event.

9. It's not so much that his speaking ability comes from being a minister...
It would be closer to the mark to say that he became a minister (in part) because of his speaking ability. The ability was there first, in any case. He's been speaking in front of crowds since he was 9 years old. He is gifted, & his talent was recognizeable early.

11. I'm for declaring Rev. Sharpton
a National Treasure.

Or at least a treasure to the Democratic party. I didn't catch all of his appearance today (they're repeating it some time after midnight, so maybe I'll be up to catch it) but I loved what I did hear. We need him to stay in the race to keep focus on the issues he addresses.

IMO, anyway.

13. he's more of an entertainer than a speaker, per say
I think he packs slightly more humor than information into most of his speeches, but he's still damn good to listen to.

14. Al and Gert
Yeah, there's no better wit, orator, or debater than Al.

But did you see Gert Clark lead the forum on South Carolina? Wow. She is a terrific public speaker and can really work the room. Very personable and down to earth. Wes hit the jackpot with Gert!
