Chris and Dana Reeve were proud democrats - CNN
John Kerry spoke on Larry King tonight about how great the two of them were in being positive and working for the good of all. (those damn socialists per RW)

All panelists denounced W's budget which completely cut out the funding for the Reeve foundation. They also blasted W's ban on funding of stem cell research.

9. Lance Armstrong, Deepak, the head of the Foundation,
a co-worker, and a spiritual adviser and the poetess at CSK's funeral.

Sorry, I didn't get all the names. It was very touching as they showed the strength of these two people.

Their son, 13, is supposed to be one heck of a kid. He's got warm family members from both sides with him and caring for him.

17. this is really a shame...
I'm gald their son has good family on both sides to help him through it.

I really respected them both, and Dana in particular for continuing to fight for research funding after Chris' death. When it wouldn't help him any longer, but for others.

15. Why does it seem that only the good one die
and the bad one like Poppy and Babs live forever?

If there really was any justice in this world it would be the other way around, wouldn't it?

19. It's true
Pappy Bush freaking dives out of airplanes in his 80s and he still lives. Barbara Bush is probably already about 145 years old. And I have a feeling that Jeb, George and all the other evil miscreants that make us this family will be with us for centuries - - they're like malevolent creatures that just go on and on.

6. Cutting the funding that Christopher and Dana worked so hard for is
beyond awful. They were tireless workers for this organization for so many years to help so many.

21. Thanks for the link. I had no idea this funding has been in peril since
immediately after Chris's death. That reminds me, did Bush or anyone from the administration make any kind of condolence statement since Dana passed away?

10. We have to carry on for them
As Dems we have to make funding of medical/cancer research and access to treatment and clinical trials a top priority. Its just as important as education, jobs, reproductive rights.

We can start by calling Congress and writing LTTE's to restore cuts to funding for medical research, especially cancer research at NCI.

Its up to us. We can do it.

12. Don't forget Paralysis research - that's what the foundation is for!
And now ofcourse with the passing of Dana, we need to remember the need to do more research on cancer too...

It is absolutely disgusting to think this administration would be cutting funding to this organization, yet asks our congress (and thus the American people) to keep funding their endless war on Iraq with an endless expense account....

Dana and Chris were both amazing people...I was privileged to have met both of them and I broke down crying when I heard she died today. Atleast I can take comfort in knowing she and Chris are together again.

16. Agree we need to hold Dem leaders accountable
for appropriate funding of all medical research.

This is a natural issue for Dems, but they continue to ignore it. They should be front and center on it.

18. I heard only 35 million a year for lung cancer research.
I think it was the CNN guy that said only about 35 million a year goes to lung cancer research. What's that like a weeks worth of killing Iraqis? Imagine if we spent a 1/4 of the money we spend on killing people on reasearch? Does anyone doubt that we'd find a cure? It's sickening.

22. Its a small fraction
of what they spend on anti-smoking campaigns - another big GOP money laundering activity that keeps their media consultants in Gucci and designer suits.
