7. any one that would let them ruin his reputation the way the repugs
did and then come back and kiss their collective asses can't possibly be presidential material. He won't stand up for himself how will he stand up for our country?

8. Frist is busing people in to vote for him. The McCain people think
the fix is in and he will lose so telling people to vote for Bush is his strategy.

"Lott Says Straw Poll is Rigged

Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) said he believes the Southern Republican Leadership Conference’s straw poll is “’a rigged deal’ and should not serve as a barometer to determine who might be the best candidate for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008,” reports CNN.

Lott accused Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) of busing people in to influence the outcome of the poll.

The Hotline notes Lott is backing Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). "

Lott really hates Frist. heh heh.

"Quote of the Day

"Straw polls are entertaining, my friends, even extremely early ones. But I think we have bigger things to worry about. So if any friends here are thinking about voting for me, please don’t. Just write in President Bush’s name. For the next three years, with the country at war, he’s our President, and the only one who must have our support today."

-- Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), in prepared remarks obtained by Ankle Biting Pundits, before tonight's Southern Republican Leadership Conference straw poll. The Hotline has more.
