Plus I think Rev Fred has a scam or two going on the side. Wouldn't put it past him. He sent his kids selling candy door to door to support his church back in the 60s.

And the people of Topeka are NOT just putting up with his crap. They have fought him for years. The author of that post is pretty uninformed. Our own DUer MuseRider is in Topeka, grew up with the Phelps kids and can tell you about lots of efforts over the years to shut him up.

Here is a far more factual read on Phelps. It's long but more accurate than most of the other articles I have found.

You do know that Phelps was a big Gore supporter? He was the chair of his KS campaign back in (I think?) 1988. Phelps was a big enough Dem supporter that he was invited to the 1992 inaugural.

16. They are only stopping in the states passing ordinances
prohibiting funeral protests. And I guess they are gearing up for a lawsuit. They said just last week that they plan to continue when they figure out a way around all these new laws.
