Bush delegates most issues, focuses only on Iraq, '06 campaign
http://www.insightmag.com/Media/MediaManager/delegates.htm

...Sources close to the administration said that over the last year, Mr. Bush has chosen to focus on two issues, leaving the rest to be decided by Cabinet members and senior aides. They said the issues are Iraq and the Republican congressional campaign in the 2006 elections.

"Lots of important issues that deal with national security are never brought to the president because he doesn't want to deal with them," a source familiar with the White House said. "In some cases, this has resulted in chaos."

The White House has acknowledged that Mr. Bush was not informed of the administration’s decision to approve a $6.85 billion takeover by the United Arab Emirates of a British firm that operates at least six major ports in the United States. The decision triggered a public firestorm and strong bipartisan opposition on Capitol Hill. This prompted the Dubai-owned company last week to bail on its bid to operate terminals in U.S. ports.

...

Mr. Hunter and other members of the House Armed Services Committee were shocked over how little White House staffers knew of the security record of the UAE, cited in testimony to the 9/11 commission as having withheld cooperation regarding al Qaeda in 1999. Last week, Mr. Hunter and Rep. Jim Saxton, New Jersey Republican, brought evidence of how the UAE port of Dubai allowed shipments of nuclear components as well as heavy water and a precursor to nerve gas to countries such as Iran, Libya and Pakistan.

The administration of NO (Idea of wtf is going on)

2. Of COURSE he's focusing on those issues..

Iraq, because it's already screwed up and he can't do anything about it anyway, so no real work there.

And the 06 campaign because it gets him out of D.C. and to fundraisers where he can booze it up.

3. The strange case of Insight Magazine
A Moonie Times publication, recently they have printed a lot of thinly-sourced insider stories that make Bush look pretty bad. This is the latest, others said Bush was bracing for impeachment and Cheney was about to quit.

that's not likely to happen anytime soon is it, John Boehner (R-Ohio/new majority leader) is a clone of Tom Delay and was gushing how great George is on Jim Lehrer tonight.

is campaigning and his legacy. It started when he took the oath of office in 2000 and it continues today.

What the American people want/need is of no concern to him.

12. I can't be believe that we have a president that won't
focus on more than 2 issues. Maybe we should have them write up their job description
of presidential duties before they can enter the primary. If vacation is listed more than
20 times, you are disqualified.

8. why, you can just see the difference -- it's so calm and peaceful there
... ever since Bush turned his attention to it!

Has nobody told him that he's not helping? Maybe he ought to focus on raising azaleas or something, where he can't do much damage.
