Kerry says "Vote for Change"

WASHINGTON — John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2004 and a possible candidate in 2008, says his party does have a message for the electorate: Vote for change.

“Don’t let anybody tell you we Democrats don’t know what we stand for,” the Massachusetts senator said in comments prepared for delivery Wednesday to the Communications Workers of America. “Give this country a Democratic Congress and you will see a difference on Day One, and a fundamental change of direction for Washington.”

Democrats have come under increasing criticism for lacking a unified message that would allow them to capitalize on Republicans’ political problems in this November’s midterm elections.

He should at least come out and say "I support Feingold" if he want vote for change. I'm sure he is with Feingold, however, he should publicly come and say so.

is thinking ahead and working at promoting the whole Democratic party. This is real leadership.

He gave this list last Saturday at an event for 2 Democrats running for Congress from New Hampshire and apparently is speaking to a CWA event tomorrow. Both these activities are for the Democratic 2006 effort.

Many Democrats have come up with lists of what they are for. There is a large amount of overlap. I really like Kerry's list.

and he isn't "grabbing" headlines. much of this is printed on partisan Dem ,and Kerry sites.

the big whore media is silent on what he is doing.

Kerry has spoken out against abuses of power his entire career. There is no reason he should stop now.

Actually the contrary is more true. Now that Kerry has an increased national following he is someone who we need to keep working to get the message out.

where other Dems don't. And if other Dems wanna step up, I'm not sure what's stopping them. We need any Dem we can get to grab ALL the headlines they can get, and that includes Dems that some people don't like. I gave kudos to Hillary when her plantation comment made the headlines, and I'm no big fan of hers. Likewise, any Dem publicity is good publicity.

Besides, it's good for people to look at him and realize what they could have had. It is the American public that should feel sore at this point.

I'd gladly pull the lever for him in 2008.

I would even suggest Vote for Positive Change. I really think the Dems need a 'hopeful' message.

By the way, I think Kerry should speak out as much as possible, and if the other Democrats holding national office can't keep up with his (in my opinion) modest leadership, then it begs the question:

Why are these "laggers" holding national leadership positions in the Democratic party, if they can't lead?
