http://www.democrats.org/

I checked the DLC website, HA what a JOKE. I didn't expect them to have a word about censure and they didn't.

http://www.dlc.org/

I checked the website for Nancy Pelosi. Nothing. Here's what's at the top of her website:

"Pelosi Welcomes Liberian President Johnson-Sirleaf to the Capitol"

Yep.

The House Minority Whip? Nada.

http://hoyer.house.gov/

The House Democratic Caucus? NOTHING. They're calling for the 100% scanning of shipping containers.

http://www.dems.gov/

(I wanted to see Feingold's site, but it won't come up, I bet it's overloaded right now. Oh and God love him.)

I've just been clicking through the websites for Senate and House Democrats and I can't find a thing. Haven't checked Kerry or a few others yet.

ARE WE NOT THEIR CONSTITUENTS? ARE THEY NOT OUR *REPRESENTATIVES?*

4. Perhaps they hid their response under the donation button...
They're afraid because censure has the word "sure" in it. They're not sure of anything.

5. Aaarrrghh
One more time. The DNC Chair's job is to build the party, raise bucks, support dem candidates, etc. It is chiefly a technical position. It is not a policy position. It is not appropriate for the DNC Chair to support the position of individual lawmakers. He can criticize repub policies and the admin. And sorry, but the Chair doesn't represent us. The only people who voted for him are the state party folks. Strictly speaking they are his constituents.

Finally, Pelosi and Hoyer are in the House not Senate. Might be nice if they supported censure, but it's not vital.

6. This from democrats.com
On 3/13/06, Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) introduced a resolution to censure George Bush for illegally wiretapping American citizens.

Of course we believe Bush deserves far more than censure. Feingold said Bush's illegal wiretapping "is right in the strike zone of the concept of high crimes and misdemeanors" - so impeachment is "an option that we could look at." You go, Russ!

Naturally, Republicans went ballistic. Sen. Bill Frist (R-TN) called Feingold "crazy" and tried to strangle his resolution in the crib. But Democrats wouldn't let him, so now the bill will go to the Judiciary Committee for further consideration.

Feingold's gutsy action has forced a debate on a topic that has been taboo in Washington: how to hold George Bush accountable for his innumerable crimes. Obviously this is a debate Republicans are desperate to avoid at all costs. But why are Democrats (other than Feingold) avoiding it too?

Feingold himself is baffled. He told Fox News "I'm amazed at Democrats, cowering with this president's numbers so low. The administration just has to raise the specter of the war and the Democrats run and hide... Too many Democrats are going to do the same thing they did in 2000 and 2004. In the face of this, they'll say we'd better just focus on domestic issues... cower to the argument, that whatever you do, if you question the administration, you're helping the terrorists."

We couldn't agree more. The time has come for Senate Democrats to stand up to George Bush and the Republican thugs in Congress and the Media.

Call your Senators at 202-224-3121 and deliver a simple message:
"I urge you to support Senator Feingold's bill to censure George Bush."
And for Democratic Senators, add this:
"And stop cowering in fear of Republican thugs!"

This is not a one-day issue. We're going to keep after all 100 Senators until they censure Bush - and ultimately impeach him. Let us know the answers you get when you call by posting below, and we will update our tally below.

7. Who really is advising these politicians?
I want to know who exactly is in the Democratic Cabal?

Does a question go out to each member of the Cabal every
time something comes up like this resolution?

Do you all have a clue about how the grassroots is working
these days...do you read the blogspots we all read and
agree with?

Are you prepared to change your mindset these days
in light of a very lame pResident or do bidness as usual
to keep your job?

Do you know your days are numbered?

If you were on the e-mail list you'd have gotten this this morning like I did.

And then I contributed.
