Seems to me, unless we start making some noise real soon, Democrats are going to be content to sneak in through the back door. By that I mean Democrats seem to be taking the position that Republicans are going to lose the House all on their own, so why should we bother going out of our way to interfere. If that's the case, I don't know if it's a wise idea.

Up until now, I don't think Democrats have taken much advantage of the opportunity that's been staring us right in the face for a long time. Bush's approval ratings have been riding on record lows, nothing is going right for them, yet we still haven't had much to say about how we could be doing things better....and differently. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me like our people are standing on the sidelines too much, contentedly watching Republicans self-destruct, instead of delivering any kind of a knockout blow to them.

How much longer before we make our identity known? Considering how much Republicans are struggling, shouldn't we at least be milking their vulnerability? Shouldn't we be capitalizing on their dismal situation, explaining to the nation how we're different from them.....instead of sitting back saying little just because we think we have it in the bag? Sure the country knows Bush is a miserable failure. Only problem is, the country doesn't know what the Democratic Party stands for yet.

Anyway, the elections are only months away. Do we go in through the front door and make some noise along the way? Or should we quietly sneak in through the back? Should we gamble and go for broke, or should we play it safe and watch them lose? How do you think we should play it?

AFAIC, the time is perfect to let the country know that Democrats do not stand for the same things that Republicans do. I think there's an entire nation of people that would be very receptive to a good alternative, if only one is offered.

1. I say we come at 'em from ALL sides
Front door, back door, and through the windows too. Make noise, and also work silently and purposefully to undo the damage that BushCo has wrought.

2. Focused, Humble, Hard Working., Competent...
I want to see a Dem controlled congress more than anything but now's not the time for arrogance or hubris, the American public has had all of that they can take from the 'pukes. We can't just say we are the alternative we have to live it.

3. I don't think we should be arrogant. I think we need to identify ourselves
more than anything. Come November, for people to really appreciate us, they need to know what we stand for. So far, that hasn't been made clear. IMO, we're sitting back a little too much, content to watch them dismantle themselves.

4. Backroom deal: No impeachment in exchange for
privately ceding all control of government to Dems and moderates. Bush fires Cheney, Rove and Rumsfeld. Makes no decision without Congressional consent. He can continue to play the figurehead and avoid the shame and embarrassment of being the first president ever removed from office. In exchange we secretly begin the transition to Democratic rule two years early.
