Murtha For President
I am not the biggest fan of John Murtha, but I think we should think about encouraging him to run for President. I am not just saying this because he is now saying things I like to hear. I am saying this because I like the way he stands up for what he believes in. I have just been watching him on Meet The Press and I am encouraged and delighted by his decision to stand for what he believes in. He just does not back down. You bring up Melhman, the media, and other news men and he just keeps to his points. He brings out the facts and sticks to them. I think he should at least run in the primary. Now I am think of a Democratic ticket like one of these Feingold,Boxer: Boxer, Feingold: Feingold, Murtha: Boxer, Murtha; Murtha, Boxer: Murtha, Feingold: I would like any of those combinations and I think any of these combinations could win the White House.

2. Other than his views on Iraq, what do you find so appealing about him?
He is not very progressive on many other issues.

3. I see his overall value as very honest, observant, able to think, talk,
decide, etc as viable enough.

Compared to Bush, Murtha 98 Bush 02

5. Stand Up
The main thing I find most appealing about him is his ability and willingness to stand up for what he believe in. I understand that he voted for Iraq and is not that progressive, but he is at least willing to give an alternative to the Republicans and Bush. Right now we need people to stand up for Democratic ideas.

4. Thank God Jon Murtha is at least out there
telling it like it is. I would support any of the above tickets.

But I'm just damn happy he is at least in congress.

7. Murtha for Sec Def
Cannot see him or Feingold winning enough primaries - but can definitely see him as Secretary of defense. I think that is where his heart is.

8. I was going to say that... agree
Murtha is a bit old, I think, for the rigorsof a national campaign. But he would be a wonderful Sec of Defense.
