Duncan Bremer, brother of Paul Bremer, announced for Hefley seat...
along with several others. However, Bremer - brother of the Baghdad Mayor, Paul Bremer - is not the favorite in this race... Rivera would be the favorite, in my opinion.

In a related and expected development, Hefley weighed in on the race for his seat in the House, endorsing his former staffer Jeff Crank.

“There’s good people in this race,” said Hefley, a Colorado Springs Republican. “I’m not casting aspersions on any of the others in the race. But I’ve known Jeff Crank for years and years. He worked for me for seven years.

Crank, most recently the vice president of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Rivera are vying with former El Paso County Sheriff John Anderson, state Sen. Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado Springs, and former El Paso County Commissioner Duncan Bremer for the GOP nomination.

The flurry of activity came on the eve of today’s precinct caucuses, which play a role in determining the list of delegates who will attend the April 15 GOP county assembly. Candidates must have the support of at least 30 percent of the delegates or gather signatures on petitions to make the primary election ballot.
