So he was the face at the UN of Bushco in the opening throws of the "War on Terror" and the Iraq invasion.

So after reflection... what do you think about him?

3. I think that he was duped
While I don't like him, I don't think that he would have been allowed to know everything, because he's generally not as hawkish or as NeoCon-friendly as Cheney and Rumsfeld. Still, I wish that he had questioned what he was being given. But with people like Bolton in the State Deparment....I do not know.

Can't remember if it was in her book or if I heard her say it in person while speaking to a small group.

He has said as much himself. That they were all fucking nuts, and that he was all nervous to go to the UN with what he knew was cooked up intel, which is why he had them edit out all the obvious bullshit to give him cover.

He is a fucking lapdog of the worst sort. He used the respect he had in the world community to sell a pack of lies to people who trusted him. I will never forgive him for it.

In between he had a great military career (some of which was probably attributtal to the investigation/coverup) and if he had wanted it he could have been President in 2000. At least the Republicans would have had a hard time coming up with a reason not to nominate him.

But you know what-just like W- what matters in the end are results and the result of his career is that he help lie us into a war. If he is everything they say he is he should have known better.

If Powell wasn't in on it and really was misled by the Bushies he can open his mouth ANYTIME and try and wipe some of the blood off his hands, but instead he has chosen to make some big bucks in the private sector and I am sure he has investments making him butt-loads of additional cash from war investments.

Powell is probably one of the only people who could have made a difference by speaking out loudly and forcefully against the administration and he has chosen to keep his mouth shut and make some money like a true Republican.....
