Scarborough - Is the Media aiding and abetting the enemy?
What a joke....cutting off the journalists and the Democratic strategist, letting that chickenhawk bloviator Brent Bozell carry on about how we are winning, but the media is not reporting it. George Rep says its a war of good against evil.

2. Flavia Colgan was great though...
I don't remember ever seeing her before, but she was shredding the RW talking points.

5. Absolutely...she made her points clearly and forcibly, so Joe cut her off
Anyone that wants to see how the "debate" of the media's role is conducted, by an ex-Republican Rep, has to look no further than this segment. It was disgusting.

15. Yeah, but they kept interrupting her and cutting her off.

Okay, I just glanced at the post below yours when I hit the reply button and I see that someone else also noticed that Joe cut her off. He wasn't exactly being subtle about it!

3. I wonder if the Rethug apologists get extra pay for having to
go out and spin this loser argument to the media. I really don't think that a bunch of 'happy talk' about how many schools we built and how many water sewerage treatment plants we attempted to build is gonna save this dog of a war in the public's mind.

I almost feel sorry for these people. Almost. No matter how much they spin, the American people have seen through their lies already. Happy Talk is not going to put this Admin back together again.

4. Exactly..
.... the more they drone on about how great things are in Iraq, the bigger effing fools with no credibility they will be tomorrow.

Because it will take a miracle, a literal miracle, to keep Iraq from descending into a full blown civil war, whether we stay or go.

7. "Staying the Course" will guarantee no change for the better in Iraq.
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 10:30 PM by Old and In the Way
Even the poll that 72% of the servicemen want out doesn't convince these people. Scarborough on Zogby, "I think he's wrong". really, what is Joe's proof? His RNC talking points? These SOBs will sacrafice miore Americans to protect their politics. Bunch of scumbag chickenhawks...the lot of them.

8. I first heard this on Sunday morning on Fox
when I heard the financial people talking about how great the stock exchange is doing because those people really KNOW (I am not sure how they know) that we are WINNING the war in Iraq, and that it is going very, very well.

And then they sent that patsy lying General Casey out to lie for them - poor man, did you see his eyes shifting back and forth, so uncomfortable with lying, not yet used to it, but he will be soon! He'll get better at lying.

10. That's another thing that cracks me up..
... the DOW languishes at a flat line for 4 years, and then when it goes up 10% suddenly you'd think it went up to where it should be after sitting still 4 years (at least 20%).

Plus, it is subject to dropping at any time and personally I'm not enough of a gambler to waste my time with the stock market :)

16. So how is it "they" know we're winning but nobody else does?
Or is it that only the stock exchange is winning in Iraq?

9. Yes Scabrough, the media IS aiding and abetting the enemy:
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=2842

""I doubt that the journalists at the New York Times and NPR or at ABC or at CNN are going to ever admit just how wrong their negative pronouncements were over the past four weeks."
(MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, 4/9/03)

"I'm waiting to hear the words 'I was wrong' from some of the world's most elite journalists, politicians and Hollywood types.... I just wonder, who's going to be the first elitist to show the character to say: 'Hey, America, guess what? I was wrong'? Maybe the White House will get an apology, first, from the New York Times' Maureen Dowd. Now, Ms. Dowd mocked the morality of this war....

"Do you all remember Scott Ritter, you know, the former chief U.N. weapons inspector who played chief stooge for Saddam Hussein? Well, Mr. Ritter actually told a French radio network that -- quote, 'The United States is going to leave Baghdad with its tail between its legs, defeated.' Sorry, Scott. I think you've been chasing the wrong tail, again.

"Maybe disgraced commentators and politicians alike, like Daschle, Jimmy Carter, Dennis Kucinich, and all those others, will step forward tonight and show the content of their character by simply admitting what we know already: that their wartime predictions were arrogant, they were misguided and they were dead wrong. Maybe, just maybe, these self-anointed critics will learn from their mistakes. But I doubt it. After all, we don't call them 'elitists' for nothing."
(MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, 4/10/03)

"Sean Penn is at it again. The Hollywood star takes out a full-page ad out in the New York Times bashing George Bush. Apparently he still hasn't figured out we won the war."
(MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, 5/30/03)

Give him time Joe. Sooner or later, he'll "figure it out"...

11. This just in from Insurgent Headquarters, somewhere in Iraq
Damn you for a dog, Scarborough. If you had not called attention to how the liberal American media are aiding and abetting us, we would have defeated the dog Bush by now.

Now that our secret source of terrifying power is gone, we will have only Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore to provide our glorious forces with succour and resilience for the battles to come.

Say it is not so, Joe. Say it is not so.

Although I agree we're in a war of good vs. evil, and not only in Iraq. I just disagree with Scarborough & Co. about who the bad guys are.

17. Re: Topic. Yes. They have been supporting the Bush regime
from day one. What else can they be doing other than aiding and abetting the enemy?

I hear it pays well, and it must not hurt too much when they surgically remove your soul.

18. So, let me get this straight,
the right wing wants puff pieces to show all the good work the u s is doing in Iraq, but do not report the WAR. WOW, those on the right always say we are in ' A WAR" whenever a democrat finds the balls to speak out against bush. Excuse me but the right wing has convinced the american people that we are at WAR in Iraq but they want the "mediawhores" to have segments on like, how to prepare GRITS while on the front line, or better bar b que using a flame from a blown up car.... or better eat your oatmeal today to lower your cholestrol....Just where is Julia Childs when you need her? DAMN!

2321 Americans dead.....Over 17,000 injured and over 50% of these wounded and injured will not report back for duty....So we are to forget this? Hell NO!

19. The worse things get here, the more this talking point seems to be made.
By Republican logic, I'd see no reason for us ever NOT to be at war. "War" becomes a convenient "get out of jail free", because that trumps all the crimes they are committing against this country.

The same media Republicans are bashing now, were willing enablers of this administration to start it in the 1st place. If there are so many great stories to tell, why doesn't this administration use some of that $1.5BB they've used for propaganda purposes and show us the "good news" in Iraq? Why hasn't the official RNC broadcast network, Fox News, sent teams over there to report all the "good news"? It's pretty obvious why....because there isn't any.

When MS-NBC provides a forum to allow Republican politicians like Scarborough to bash MS-NBC, et al, instead of focusing on the policy disaster that Republicans have total responsibility for, I can only surmise that they are active participants in the con.

You know, the guy who holds signs that say "God hates America" and "Thank God for 9/11"
