3. Lordy Lord
I never thought I'd see the day I'd be pining to see'ole nixon or even ronnie up there in the oval office rather than someone else. But bush** has done it.

It has never been this bizarre or insane. Not in my 57 years. Probably not ever.

9. It sickened me to vote for both of them over bush.......
but what other choice was there? They should have an "about the same" choice as well as "better" or "worse". Voting for those two tore my moral fiber to shreds, but bush? He'll AWAYS be the worst, hands down. :puke:

16. I didn't vote for Reagan and Bush Criminal #1
I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Seems like that would have been an endorsement of some kind. I do find a certain satisfaction that Bush Criminal #2 will go down in history as the worst president ever, but the price we're paying is too high just to tag that insult upon him.

Public reaction to him will continue to decline after he leaves office, as more and more of his dirty deeds are exposed.

20. BUt look at nixon's record
he fixed social security
he evened out taxes and cut upper bracket tax loopholes
he got SALT with USSR
he created EPA
he fixed VA problems and built hospitals
he increased cooperation with europe
he funded poverty programs and started meals for poor kids in schools.

that isn't even close to reaching what he did with China.

Nixon was not so bad, except for being a crook. In comparison to today's people, we would much prefer to have him in office.
He would not have invaded Iraq, he would not give Israel carte blanche, he would not have fucked up Katrina like Bush did.

29. exactly. It also show how far to the right the DLC has gone.
stupid party leaders, be they GOP or Dems, take refuge in saying black when the other side says white. Easy to remember and do, and takes no brain power or spine. (A very limited supply exists within the bloatway to start with) Besides, it is a SAFE refuge, something near and dear to their petty little hearts. It creates no waves.

We have had too much of that, and the voters punished the Dems just for such mindless approaches. They just haven't gotten the point yet. The real problem is when the issue is no longer White or Black, Yes or No, Even or Odd.

Today's GOP has gone so far into fascism, greed and corruption, that just saying the opposite of their current stance puts the democrats smack dab in the middle of conservative GOP. The choice today is far right or right, not even moderate, left or right. Hell, even financial conservatives are scared by these religious based yahoo crazies.

Thom Hartmann compared his policies to those of the current GOP and he comes up as a liberal, based on that comparison. MKJ

I voted in every available poll. With the sheer mass of participants, my lone, lil' old vote doesn't seem much, I s'pose, but I feel compelled to do whatever bit I may: butterfly effect, I guess.
Those numbers are spectacular, given that the AOL propaganda page is second only to fraud republic.

I don't think the media treats Preznit Dumbass fairly at all. They coddle and pander to him instead of calling him the criminal, thief, liar and piece of shit that he really is!

I also think that at this moment, 68% of the people would rate Satan himself as better than Dumbass.

Bush may make it into the bottom five, but what people forget is that we have had some really bad presidents. It's always easy to say someone's the "best" or the "worst" when you are living through that time period.

27. LET'S GET REAL - Bush is the 2nd or 3rd worst president ever
Even Little Lord Pissypants can't compare to HERBERT HOOVER with the Great Depression and the crash of '29. We are currently in a recession, offshoring our jobs, etc. and things may get a lot worse before they get better -- but Hoover presided over the worst hardships ever endured by Americans of all time.

Look, I can't stand Bush at all, but we're not suffering under 75% unemployment (yet) and we're not all being forced to dig up turnips to eat (you know that half of you had a Starbucks yesterday...)

So, let's please remember our history here, and not just spout red meat rhetoric for once. It does a great disservice to the 1920's generation -- THOSE people knew suffering and hardship. It seriously takes a bunch spoiled little princesses to compare our current state of an economic downturn and a bad president who loves war (while we all continue getting fatter from all of our food and protected from manual labor) against what my grandmother and her family (being one of 13 children) went through during that time while living in the dustbowl of Texas during the Great Depression.

Edited on Thu Mar-23-06 12:16 PM by nadinbrzezinski
you see the policies that led t the 1929 crash are the same that are being followed right now... so the operative word is YET for a great depresion. Also... the great depresion was covered by the Media and all that, we truly do not know what the level of REAL unemployment is in the country... will give yuo an example. My husband is looking for work, he had not received any assistance, guess what... he is NOT part of the statistics.

And there are millions like that right now.

49. Hoover didn't dismantle the Constitution, rob us of our civil liberties,
launch a preemptive war based on lies, or allow a major U.S. city to drown because of sheer incompetence. Nor did Hoover claim to be above the law, willfully violating laws passed by Congress and defying Congress to do anything about it.

Plus Bush's refusal to recognize global warming threatens not only residents in the U.S., but the entire planet.

Bush, in my book, is far worse.
