Thick skin serves Kucinich in S.C.
The voters of New Hampshire and Iowa said "no" to Dennis Kucinich's dreams of becoming president after he spent months courting them. Those in South Carolina seem prepared to give him a similar brushoff in their primary on Tuesday.

Kucinich's appearance yesterday at a student political forum at South Carolina's oldest historically black college was so sparsely attended that its organizer urged attendees to sit in the front row to avoid spoiling a video of the event.

Most of the journalists who questioned Kucinich after a candidates forum in Columbia were 10- and 12-year-olds who represented publications for children.

On Thursday, parishioners of a black church in Greenville ignored a proxy who promoted Kucinich's positions on its stage. That evening, a room full of journalists covering the presidential debate for the national media guffawed when Kucinich held out his hands to moderator Tom Brokaw and announced that they would heal the nation.

1. Kucinich sadly just won't catch on to the mainstream
pity because a lot of stuff he says NEEDS to be said.
But I definetly don't agree with all his positions.

2. the best we can hope for:
"Nobody but Kucinich's most ardent supporters believes he has a chance at the nomination. But some political observers believe that he and fellow longshot Al Sharpton may gain some party sanction for their positions if they stay in the race long enough to bring them to the convention."

It's a foothold, and it shows a clear direction. Any time the rest of the party is ready to stop walking in the wilderness, the progressives are waiting with a plan.
