NEW Grand Theft Election: Nixonians 9: They Shoot Doves in Texas
"I didnt want war. To assume I wanted war is just flat wrong, Helen." To any sane person, this is complete bull shit. We heard him threaten Sadaam, because Sadaam tried to kill his daddy. We saw him mount a campaign of lies based on bogus WMDs. We watched him fool the American people and the majority of Congresspeople. We know that the Neo-cons have been scheming to take over Iraq since the days of Scoop Jackson.

However, what you have to remember about W. is that he is a western man. Unlike his daddy, who was born with an ounce of sense, W. has one code, and that code is shoot first, shoot second and shoot last. He isn't the peacekeeper of the world. He isn't even the policeman of the world. He is the world's sheriff, and he knows that John Wayne and Gary Cooper are watching.

He isn't the first to suffer from Western Disease. LBJ was from Texas. Nixon was from California. Neither man knew how to "Just say no" to war. So, they ended up shooting doves---pacifists, innocent children, their own consciences, the will of the American people. W. is cut from the same cloth--and he has Karl Rove, another western man, for his tailor.
