have you heard of the "GodArchy Line"?

Tiarht got into Congress by defeating a great Dem, Dan Glickman. Dan was implicated in the Congressional Banking scandal and Tiahrt exploited that to win. At the time I was a Dem Party officer. It was amazing how the people came out against Glickman. I had helped Dan on a couple of his campaigns. Typically a few party people would stand with him outside some aircraft plant for support while he would greet people as they went to/from work. We knew he was going to lose when, two days before the election, a large number of workers walking into the Cessna plant refused to shake his hand. It was very sad.

Tiarht is not just a scumbag, he's a rapture rightist. The entire KS Repug party is full of them. In Sedgwick County (Wichita) the Repug party puts out a monthly publication which reads like a Jack Chick tract. There's more talk about Jesus than about politics. During that time, the Sedgwick County Repugs also ran a phone line out of their headquarters called the "GodArchy Line". This was a daily recorded announcement that openly advocated fundy Christian only litmus tests, the death penalty for any number of minor offenses and non-offenses, and the elimination of the Bill of Rights, replacing it with the Decalogue.

KS Republicans are very, very scary. That includes Todd Tiahrt. I hope my friends in Sedgwick County have their thing together this year. They have a very good organization there with a permanent headquarters and paid Executive Director. They enjoy strong support from a variety of sources. This organization convinced Al Gore to come to Wichita twice during the 90's, once while he was Veep. We didn't deliver KS for Clinton either time. But the Dems in KS have a history of getting the governor's office. Kathleen Sebelius is a crackerjack governor.

One hopes that there may be hope for defeating Tiahrt this time.

power to the people.

2. I am the original poster of this.
I have no idea if the GodArchy line is still active. I haven't lived in Wichita for some time now. But the GodArchy line, if it is still going is a scary, scary thing.
