General Clark's Faux contract expires in a month.. Will he renew?
Geez, I sure hope not!!

Wolfie Blitzoid just said that polls show Democrats now even with R-thugs on national security and which party can keep America safer--and that some polls show Democrats now leading in those areas for the first time in EONS. Begala said that Democrats HAVE to capitalize on this!!

Personally, I think it sucks that General Clark is OFF BOUNDS to any cable network besides Faux News!!

I tried to find info on the various Clark site's indicating whether he'll renew or walk, but could only find one Clarkie who's guess is he'll extend for 6 more months. (In other words, he had no clue)

Have any Clarkie's out there heard anything from him on his future with Faux? ..Any good news?

1. It Depends on how much he feels his voice will be needed to
continue to make sure that a real Democrats' voice is heard on the Government channel during the 2006 election.

The bottomline with Wes Clark at the moment is that 2006 is crucial, and everything else is bullshit!

I trust him to do what's needed to win us one or two houses....because without a win, as Bush is at his most dreadful currently.....we could only do worse in 2008 against a different national candidate (someone other than Bush).

Also note, the poll that I saw still showed a 7 point lead for GOP on the Security issue....and when asked if Dems had a plan, poll showed nearly 70% were saying NO!

There's is still much for Dems to overcome in what is being billed as the issue of the 2006 election.....and this is AFTER THE PORT DEAL FIASCO! :eyes:

2. Thanks FC!
I didn't see them show a poll, just indicate that with the margin of error, it's a deadheat on national security. Actually, I think we're doing BETTER than any network polls show.

I realize the good General needs to think about himself first, but *sigh* I really miss those Hardball (etc.) appearances!!

Republicans on National Security:

7. I don't think that the General "is thinking about himself".......
I think he's dead set in winning 2006....and since he's not running, I think he's thinking about you and me and our nation much more than anything else. I think that the few dollars that Clark earns on Fox does not begin to repair the damage that many view in his choosing the lion's Den that most Democrats can't stand.....and many feels he has no business appearing on.

Just like today....the fact that the Dems made the National Security announcement.....they did show it on Faux....and when and if Faux viewers saw that General that seems to be so level headed standing there....they will figure out that the Dems are not as Clueless on Defense as Faux would like for them to thnk.

3. No inside info, sweetie
I tend to think he will see it as important to his 2006 strategy to continue on Fox. Personally, although I think it was invaluable to the Democratic Party, I want him back on the rest of the cable news channels, too. But you know Wes, he will go to any lengths to save this country, so we just have to suck it up.

5. The problem I see
with the Faux contract is that it pretty much keeps him from going on other networks. It is certainly important that his voice be heard by the Faux viewers but if he has any interest in running in 2008 he'll need to get on more than just Faux.

Faux seems to confine him to short segments that can easily be missed. I left the room for a few minutes at the end of Bush's rant today and missed Clark entirely.

Personally, I'd like to see him move on and expand his exposure.

6. A leap of faith
Assuming that MSNBC or CNN will invite General Clark to their station might be a leap of faith, a huge one considering CNN's historic blackout of all things Clark. So I have mixed feelings about the General's TV future, which will of course depend on whatever he choses to do. Nevertheless, on fox today, he was able to talk at length about the latest Democratic security plan after the other stations failed to even mention it. Ya know, they HAD to cover the First Monkey spewing his "spreading democracy is hard work!"

For me it comes down to: "Be careful what you wish for..."

8. same here....
the media is not below going back to acting like he doesn't exist...since he doesn't fit into their box of Dems are weak on security and have no plans. Afterall, they are all pushing that meme....so I don't know if in leaving Fox, the other networks will be glamoring for appearances from him. He really doesn't help their propagandizing the Dem stereotype at all.

The media is totally screwed, which was evidenced today when we had to watch (for those so brave) Bush for 1.5 hours go on and on.....and the Dems got about 15 seconds with a Reid soundbyte.

Come to think of it, I prefer Wes at Fox then if the network decided that as a General....he might as well fade away, like they did during the primaries.

9. Jack Cafferty just dissed Dems--Big Time
He boiled down the Dem proposal to two points: catching Osama and redeploying the troops (which Cafferty reframed as a cut and run.) Then Cafferty asked can we trust the Dems with National Security.

Contrast that with Wes on faux this afternoon who got tell the whole story. Would CNN have given him that time? Really? I rather doubt it to the point of saying "Never!!!"

10. Amazing, isn't it?
and OMFG....Pelosi did the unthinkable....held the booklet upside down, and now that has become the story of the press conference......While Bush leads us down the path of the fucked up war and after trillions are spent and senseless blood shed, all he needs is a fucking shake up!

Amfuckingmazing!

11. Thoughts:
1) I've always thought that CNN was equal to or worse than faux because they are perceived at "liberal." Which they are not. Thus, they skew the average viewers understanding of the news. I've met off-line Dem. activists who believe that Wolfie and Judy were liberal-friendly.

2) Jack Cafferty only read anti-Dem answers tonight. I know he received other views because I sent one.

3) Did the Dems do their media homework? It is always difficult to say, but so far, I've only heard of the General pushing the positive. CNN=zip, NPR=nada. I may have missed it, but I don't think so.

12. You didn't miss.......it's just not there.....cause the media's
job is to make a laughing stock of all of the Democrats when it comes to "security".....cause ain't nobody gonna touch the GOP "trump Card" if "they" can help it. Watch Hardball (for the 3 minutes that I watch waiting for olbermann) do the exact same thing....with Cizilla from Wapo....Matthews talking about "don't laugh" to Cizilla when he brought up Dems and security in the same sentence. Cizilla then explained very slowly with his dumbass lisp on how Pelosi held the sign upside down, and suggested that the GOP should highlight that part of the conference and say...yeah, that's what they do with Security, have it upside down. Then they all had a chuckle.

Then Olbermann came on and basically the story was Pelosi holding the fucking sign upside down.

Then We ain't heading down the road of facism based on nothin'...tell you that!

I'm more than disgusted with our media....I have truly have had it up to Here with those media whores (of course Olbermann found it funny...cause in the end, he needs to get paid...and I'm sure the producers are on his ass these days anyways). :eyes:
