April 15th NAACP will bus in voters for New Orleans election!

Busses will travel to New Orleans from Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Jackson and Atlanta on Saturday, April 15th. If you need a ride to vote, or you know of someone who does, please contact 1-866-OUR-VOTE!

300 polling places were destroyed out of 442.
If you have to vote in New Orleans on the day of the election. You need to check to see (1) if your polling place was destroyed and (2) where to vote now that your polling place is no longer there. They changed some of the "substitute" polling places on March 25th, so it is important to check again. Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE for assistance!
Only one post office opened in NOLA.
In some places:
No garbage pick up.
No electricity.
No water.
No gas.
No place to live.
No place to work.
Only a few public schools opened.
Limited health care.
Does not sound like the kind of environment to hold a local election, but then again, "they" did it in Iraq, right?
