1. And he recited his talking point verbatim
or nearly verbatim--proof positive of a canned, rehearsed response.

3. It's a complete lie-fest
How these people can claim they're moral and people buy it I'll never understand.

... frankly i think it's waaaaay too late to save themselves.
Bush is going down and he's taking the whole darn
republican party, the conservative movement, the
freaky fundies and the fuckhead freepers with him.

Bye bye

6. The wisdom of war says if you have no other defense....ATTACK!!!
consequently we can judge Scotty's attack as the admin having no good legitimate defense.

10. Did anyone catch the big smile Scottie flashed when he
actually answered a question. If anyone watches the replay, try to catch the smile. It was the only one I saw the whole time I watched.

11. He smiled for a long time after he got his stonewall constructed
all he had to say was president has authority, on-going investigation.

7. You know they think if they smile and "don't us see em sweat"
it's all pretend. You're right - this lie-comference is ridiculous and if the press leave and don't start reporting "Bush Administration Won't Answer Questions" instead of presenting it like they do then they are letting this country down.

13. When the Fox News guy
asks tough questions, I think that it will be reported. Anyway, the CBS News guy also hammered him so we know (hope?) that CBS will report their guy's tough questions.

8. And he said the same thing here.

McClellan said the release of the declassified information was very different from what he called the potentially damaging leak of information about Bush's domestic eavesdropping program which aims to track phone calls and e-mails in the United States to suspected al Qaeda contacts abroad.

"Democrats who refuse to acknowledge that distinction are simply engaging in crass politics," he said.

9. Scotty at home:
"Honey, where should we go for dinner?"

"I don't want to engage in any speculation."

"Well, how about that new place downtown?"

"I've already given my response and I refuse to speculate."

"But I heard Judith Miller raves about it."

"If the press wants to keep focusing attention on our dinner plans, I don't think that's what the American people want."

"But honey, I'm starving!"

"I have nothing more to add at this time."

15. I am so sorry I can't nominate a single post
This one would be it.

Of course, I'm rewriting it in my head about another room in the house. I'm sure you can all figure out what I'm saying here .

16. Yep...and here's the dialog:
"Speculate for me, honey. I love it when you speculate."

"That's not what the American people want."

"C'mon, baby. I'm not under investigation. You haven't investigated me in months!"

...and so on, and so forth.

18. It's always the Democrats' fault, even when they are out of power.
I'm surprised he didn't just go ahead and call out Bill Clinton for this.
