Sources: Bush thinks his leaks were 'a-okay'

Came across this and did not see it anywhere else. Sorry if it's already been posted.

Ceck out these little tidbits:

"Little did anyone fathom that Bush's original statement would have likely required him to fire... himself"

and...

Denial?

Hardly. In fact, word is that Bush thinks his actions are a-okay! The Washington Post reports a "senior Administration official" said Bush "sees a distinction between leaks and what he is alleged to have done. The official said Bush authorized the release of the classified information to assure the public of his rationale for war as it was coming under increasing scrutiny."

Is that the reason why the info release was designated for a single journalist? </snark>

5. Seems like the same...

...BS excuse that the administration used in the illegal wiretapping.

They could have easily gotten 72-hour, after-the-fact warrants for their actions, but instead, they told the American people and the Constitution to go "Cheney themselves". They didn't want to 'bother' with procedure because procedure creates a window into the workings of those following the procedures, and that would decrease the degree of secrecy within which the administration would like to work.

They are lazy, egotistical bastards. Plain and simple.

7. True...

...but it's amazing that the administration addresses the arguable scandal with "What we did is fine". Though it might not have been illegal, it most certainly was not 'fine'.

But maybe they don't have anything more convincing to argue. Who knows, maybe some people think kiddy porn is okay in Amsterdam. It might be legal there, but it most certainly is not 'okay'.

And relax about the analogy. It's just there to make a point, not to suggest that Bush is into that (kiddy porn).

(A nazi analogy would be more appropriate in that sense.)

3. Yeah After All He Needed To Prove Joe Wilson Wrong...

but oops, he was right as it turned out...THIS ISN'T OK IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. It' proves he deliberately lied and misled us into this war -- and why didn't he just declassify the stuff outright? BECAUSE HE KNEW JOE WILSON WAS RIGHT. What other reason for it to be an "anon" source planted in the media?

9. The reason the Administration

took the 'behind-the-scenes' step that they did instead of following the declassification process is because they knew it was the WRONG THING TO DO!!

The issue is not the leak. The issue is a sitting American President kept his mouth shut and allowed a federal investigation to continue. If there's no crime, why so secretive? Plus, during this time Bush lied to the press and the people of the country by acting like he knew nothing about it.

America cannot allow a President who lies to remain in office. Period. Bush has broken the oath he took - he must be removed from office. There is no trust in the man. He acted in bad faith.
