Everything changed after Nov. 2000
The GOP likes to use the phrase: "Everything changed after 9/11" to frame their agenda, but in fact, it changed in November 2000 when we ceased to be a Republic after the Bush gang stole the election and a gang of GOP thugs intimidated officials into stopping the vote recount in Florida.

We must de frame their agenda and reset the clock to illustrate when the real tragedy began.

2. Absolutely true.
By installing Bush, the Supreme Court signalled that we are no longer a nation of laws -- cronyism rules uber alles.
There are no rules for these people, no recourse and no reverberations. They do as they please and we can't even HOPE that something, ANYthing will stick and eventually wind its way through the court system Even if that happened, where would we be?
The Supreme Court will ultimately rule for their golden child once again.

4. Of course 9/11 changed everything.
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 05:00 PM by EOO
What changed with 9/11 is that the GOP, and ESPECIALLY the evangelical right, showed that they absolutely dont give a shit. They'll do whatever they want and they're above the law for it. Now they have the house and the senate stacked in their favor and they're getting control of the supreme court. It's just with the more power that the crazy loonies on the right have gained, the more out of control they've become. That's what changed on 9/11.

But really, this shit all started with these crazy, insane subhumans not being able to admit defeat in the 2000 election.

5. I say our country was officially over on 12 december 2000--the day five
republican-appointed members of the supreme court abrogated their duties, overrode the constitution and installed chimperor. that really annoys people.

6. WE can debate the time and place
and we are all correct, and the cumulative effect gives the same result. I think we all came to the same basic conclusion.
