When are we going to Call for a General Strike and March on to Washington?

Two weeks ago, millions of people of the Latina/o community all over the country were out in full force, "shocking" the msm with their unified message of protest of the draconian legislation being proposed by the fascists Representative Sensenbrenner from Wisconsin.

For several years, most people in this country KNEW that the president lied us into a war based on specious manufactured "evidence" of imminent threat of WMD's vis a vis the "Mushroom Cloud" on our soil.

We knew it was a lie before the war started, it took several months before it became clear to the doubters and the chicken hawks that promoted this war - the lies, the domestic spying, the outing of critics of the reasons for war, that were undercover CIA agents working on WMD's, and so and so on and so on. Enumeration of the huge list of evil doings by this regime isn't really necessary .

But yesterday, evidence of what most of us had already suspected and intuited was presented to our nation - the President and the Vice President authorized the outing of Valerie Plame to get back to the person that spoke Truth to Power on the lies and specious justifications for war.

Yet, no one is calling for a General Strike. No one is calling for a mass march on Washington. We are still criticizing Cynthia McKinney and an array of other issues of far less importance.

I don't understand. I am totally freaking out with the apathy here. I no longer recognize my country, i know longer recognize my party..

Why aren't Democratic party leaders holding full court press right this minute? Why are Democratic Party leaders explaining what has happened to our democracy and why are they not demanding that the people call on Bush and Cheney to step down right now?

I have to run a bunch of errands in a few minutes, I won't be able to get back to this posting until later, but i really hope to see that I'm not alone in my frustration and confusion.

Because this really feels like the Twilight Zone to me..

and we are going to be busy at war with it.

that my imbecilic countrymen don't find it deplorable that the skeevy chimp doesn't know how to be truthful.....this debacle in iraq, bankrupting my country, and lying about everything. if this isn't deserving of a march on washington nothing is.

where does that fit in?

and where does your usual attack on the Democratic Party leadership fit into this? Are things going a little too badly for the Bush administration and a little too well for Democratic Party prospects for this November right now?

to understand where and how a General Strike fits in, do a history lesson on the subject - and by the way - General Strikes are being held all over the goddam world in protests over despot regimes or where the government is threatening to take punitive measures against the underclass.

General Strikes get the attention of the Government and the msm, and especially those who "worry" over losing votes. It also gets the ISSUES on the front pages - thereby informs the sheeple who are otherwise not paying attention.

and where does your usual attack on the Democratic Party leadership fit into this?

When my party leadership starts acting like they've got a set of goddam balls, as i said in my op - they should be holding full court press in every major community all over the country - and they should have done that immediately.

Sure, low poll numbers ought to mean something and it should tell Dems a few things, and so should history inform all of us including the Dems who are addicted poll numbers to tell them which way to go, that every action cannot be depend on poll numbers.

If you think that these poll numbers are going to equate to "victories" for Dems you are seriously deluding yourself and you, have not been paying attention.

already, Karl Rove is on the offense - Today, he addressed the Republican Lawyers Association - there's no way i am able to paraphrase the most remarkable Orwellian speach i have heard todate out this administration - one must actually sit down and listen, perhaps more than once and grasp the full implications of that speach.

If no other lesson has been learned in these past five years, the one that should penetrate through a few thick skulls around here, is that War is Freedom, Freedom is Slavery - nothing, absolutely nothing can be taken for granted, cannot be depended on, most especially must not translate low polling numbers as victory for the Dems.

Shut the country down for a couple of days. And the freepers who stay at work will have to do it all.

it's a total lie... it's a ruse. we were apparently betrayed a long time ago and just never knew it. we have to take back the country ourselves, we can't "wait until november" for the democrats to maybe get control of the house.. it won't matter if they do or not.

the leadership we have now is the leadership we will have then, and we have no leadership at all. we have to be the leaders. we have to hit the streets in every community in every city across the nation and we have to do it now.... we can't wait for future stolen elections.. we can't wait for powders to dry. we have to restore our democracy now.

the talking points that was immediately promulgated was that the president has the authority to declassify anything he wants to for any purpose.

and... suggestions that Bush ought to go ahead and "pardon" Libby, going down the same road as Reagan did with Poindexter and Oliver North et al..

nothing but silence from our party leadership...
