Help Jeff Latas choose an Ad.
POLL: Choose an Ad: Jeff Latas for Congress Hotlist

Wed Apr 12, 2006 at 09:02:49 AM PDT

Thanks to my fantastic team of professionals working pro bono, we have three campaign ads "in the can."

We're making the media buy tonight!

You can help by viewing the three, 30-second ads, and voting for your favorite.

2. Message good/Closing weak
Like "Future" the best because of the graphics and sound effects which are "grabbers" especially for those people who only hear the ad and don't see it (e.g. those half watching/doing something else, etc.).
All three fall flat with the closing required "approved this message" disclosure.....this can be done better with music under/graphics/or just as a voiceover and a better visual. But, for non professional ad people working pro-bono, they are all good. Just because the media "buy" is tonight, you don't need to tell them which spot is running yet. They will need that name (these are called the "traffic" instructions in tv talk) later. Depending upon the station/cable outlet, you may not need to have the actual tape to them until the day before/ or even the day of the first airing. You probably know that you don't have to pick just one ad. You could run all 3 in any kind of rotation that you would want (e.g. 33% each or 50%/50%). Plus, some media outlets will allow you to pick dayparts to run your ad rotation (e.g. one of these ads may appeal more to a female demograpic - if so, run it during the daytime when more women than men are at home). However if you can only pick one or only want to pick one, I would go with "The Future" and tell them you will get them the revised re-edited version as soon as you can (should you decide to change the ending). Just my .02. Good luck in your race!

3. Great ads!
The Leadership one I felt was the most powerful, mainly because of "Fanfare For the Common Man"-very appropriate and powerful music, especially as Latas looked at The Wall. I only wish I lived in AZ so I could vote for him!
