Top cop urges Mc.Kinney to be prosecuted
The nations top cop was in Washington today to talk to the policeman about possible charges being filed against Ga. Congresswomen Cynthia Mc.Kinney for last week's altercation.

Chuck Canterbury, the national president of the fraternal order of police said in a statement today, "We are going to make sure the officer won't be harassed. We want him to be able to talk to experts, who can take a look at legal recourse, if necessary".

They also want to take a look at the altercation between one of Mc.Kinney's bodyguards, and a reporter on the steps of the Capitol before Mc.Kinney came on the House floor to apologize for the first incident.

It looks like the nations the top cop wants some sort of prosecution for Mc.Kinney's actions, and if they do file charges, the story isn't going to go away anytime soon.

1. Since when is he the "top cop"
Because he's the head of a police apologist union? That makes him the nation's "top cop"? He should keep his mouth shut. He has no jurisdiction on this matter.

I read that the FOP Union met in Nashville and unanimously voted to support the Capitol Hill policeman so he had little choice

a lot of people are paying attention now, and i'm sure that most rational people will see thru this little smokescreen. republicans desperately need an issue that can put them on offense for a change. that's why they'll play this up as much as possible, and oh yeah the john conyers babysitting thing......:eyes:

I think the story would have died days ago if Mc.Kinney just apologized, and not used the race card.

14. At the time of the bus incident, Rosa Parks was a
seamstress, fighting the Jim Crow laws. And even though there is still rampant racism in the US, there is nothing like the Jim Crow laws existing. Ms. McKinney makes around $165,000 a year and perks as a Representative. I can't imagine a place where Ms. McKinney could not go. That was certainly not true for Ms. Parks. The comparison is belittling to Rosa Parks.

15. "I can't imagine a place where Ms. McKinney could not go" you say?
How about "going" to work in the halls of congress for starters? Without being screwed with by racists, fascists that is.

As for comparing Cynthia's "situation" to that of Rosa Parks, it is dead on. I believe we can be charitable enough to extend justice to those making $165,000 a year.

17. If she wore her pin, she could go. Or if she said, "I'm sorry, I didn't
hear you address me. Here's my ID," she would have been on her way in a second.

The comparison is sophistic, at best.

BTW, I'd bet Arlen Specter got stopped quite a bit after his chemotherapy.

receive the same treatment by capitol cops, I can can see why we are miles apart on this issue.

Anyway, there's no way you could see where I'm coming from on this with your particular point of view, so I'll bid you good day. :hi:

16. Comparing Mc.Kinney to Parks is just plain stupid
And demeaning to the Parks legacy. Why don't you just admit what Mc.Kinney did was wrong?? To use the fact that she was being harassed because she's black, is absolutely criminal. when Republicans talk about Democrats and race, and how they're exploiting it, they can point to people like Mc.Kinney to drive it home.

Mc.Kinney struck an officer, Rosa Parks refused to get out of her seat. She didn't use violence Mc.Kinney did. Big difference.

32. Parks was a carriage of misjustice, Mc.Kinney was not
Rosa Parks did what she felt she needed to do. All Mc.Kinney did was ramble on, call 15,000 press conference, and generally make a fool of herself. Oasis, your viewpoint about Mc.Kinney, while passionate, is totally off the mark.

33. Rosa Parks used civil disobedience to defy an unjust law
Cynthia McKinney acted a fool.

Apples and drywall.

Comparing the two not only demonstrates a pathetic lack of understanding of Rosa Parks and her legacy, it reveals the speciousness of the "Cynthia McKinney as victim" arguments.

8. 'They' want this story to stay alive ... and it is easy for them to do ...
Consider this story as the House equivalent of the use of Clinton's name and actions to somehow create a moral equivalency with Il Dunce's awful actions.

"Well, Delay was bad, but look at McKinney. She's on trial too."

Expect McDermott to get caught up in this net as well over his 'leaking' the captured phone call between Gingrich and Boehner.

So it is necessary for their cause to get McKinney indicted. And that's easy cuz she'll be seen as an 'uppity black woman'.

These people are to-the-core shitbags and they act that way every day.
