More scandals coming ! Col. Wilkerson on CSpan 12:45 EST Apr.13th
Must see TV, 12:45 EST Col Larry Wilkerson, Colin Powell's former military aide, speaks at Middle East Institute and says more scandals involving Rumsfeld and Cheney are going to come out. I saw portions of the speech last night on broadcast and my jaw dropped to the floor !

http://inside.c-spanarchives.org:8080/cspan/cspan.csp?command=dschedule

In addition, Wilkerson seems to be an actually thoughtful person. He takes questions about how Powell 'tried to work from within' this administration too ! Great show, C-Span rules !

1. Pff. Then Powell tried to work it from the outside of the administration
too. Wilkerson might be a standup guy himself, but Powell has thoroughly discredited himself in my book.

2. Watch the CSpan speech. Wilkerson knows where the bodies are buried.
Edited on Thu Apr-13-06 09:59 AM by EVDebs
He pulls his punches on Powell, for sure, but lays body blows to Rumsfeld and Cheney. He says more leaks and whistleblowers are heading down the pike. If so, I don't see this administration lasting another two years without resignations and investigations by the Republicans even. It can't continue much longer or their GOP will implode.

BTW, read

7. This group of liars even had to lie to Powell to make their war happen.
Powell was the one telling senators that war in Iraq was NOT a done deal, and that diplomacy and weapons inspections would be relied upon heavily first.

I thought then he was lying for BushInc, but evidence is showing he was lied to, as well. Imagine how deceitful these thugs must be to lie to people in their OWN circle.

8. Powell doctrine was thrown away in order to get into Iraq...
Powell now disgraced himself by his loyalty to Bush. He should have known better; Wilkerson appears to be saying that Powell went along with the wishful thinking of his 'superiors'. Someone should have told him he has the right to disobey an unlawful order...

26. Yes, Powell had his fingers crossed as he supported Bush and the cabal.
If the war had been a success, he'd come out smelling like a rose.

14. Is there a transcript of the show? I cancelled tv and can't view videos
on the computer yet.

The floodgates are opening ~ I wondered how long any true patriot, in the military or the DOJ or State Dept. could know even the little we know about this cabal (and they have to know way more) and stand by watching their country be taken over by this criminal band of neocons.

I read that he said people would be 'coming out of the woodwork' now ~ he must know that or he wouldn't be putting himself out there knowing how vengeful this regime is. THere's strength in numbers ~ I'm beginning to have hope this long nightmare may soon be over ~

15. Powell stood up in front of the UN
and delivered information he KNEW to be FALSE to the WORLD.
Powell is as guilty of Mass Murder as anyone in the Bush* administration.
The Republican Party AS A WHOLE, and the Democrats who voted FOR the IWR share the guilt!
If I KNEW (along with most of DU) that the Powell speeech to the UN was BOGUS, then no one in Congreee has an excuse.

For DOG'S sake, Powell used cartoon drawings to prove that Sadam had WMD!

16. Just like his role as "cover agent" in Vietnam as a Major ...
Powell was playing the "good soldier" (patsy!) by marching lock step to Bush-Co's directives. :puke:

17. One of the things that Wilkerson said was that Powell
was working behind the scenes, and not just out throwing stones at the Administration. He said that Powell wrote a letter to McCain, when McCain was working on the torture legislation. McCain immediately copied it and sent it to all the Senators. Some Senators said that this letter is what made them vote for the torture legislation.

18. Notice how Little Lord Pissypants seems "free and clear"...
Bad, bad Cheney and Rummy and Powell...

I'll tell you why Powell did this. He did it to cover Shrub's ass. Why didn't he tell the American people the truth after he resigned? Why did he wait until now? He waited because he had no intention of coming clean...but now LLP is in a heap of shit and he's trying to run interference for him. Just my 2 cents...

19. If Colin Powell was an honorable man he would have
resigned before spewing the lies at the UN. He is still protecting his former CIC and trying to clean up his own image. The blood stains on his hands won't wash out.
