Tony Blair won't back Bush over possible Iran attack
I guess Tony Blair finally got it through his thick head that he won't back George Bush on every little adventure that Bush might get into. Blair said he will not back Bush if the US decides to take out Iran's nuclear facilities. What Blair wants is something called a "Chapter 7" action. This action would in essence cut Iran off from the rest of the world, and slap heavy sanctions on the country, if it proceeds with its nuclear ambitions.
Earlier this week, Iran said that it has "soldiers" on the ground in Britain already, just waiting for the word to start a suicide bombing campaign. For me though, Blair's actions are a day late, and a dollar short. Tony would have had much more credibility if he told George earlier to stick the Iraqi war where the sun don't shine. Now with the victory of the leftists in Italy, the US and Britain are the only real credible force left in Iraq. Bush is slowly losing his allies

He went way out on the limb in the UK over Iraq and now has egg all over his face. There is no way the British public would stand for this. It would certainly bring him down if Mr. Blair went out on the limb on this one. He would no longer be Prime Minister Blair if he tried.

As they say, "fool me once shame on you...fool me twice...won't get fooled again".

4. Blair already has one foot out the door at 10 Downing Street
He probably won't make it through another election, if he doesn't lose a no-confidence vote soon.

One good thing about their system. If they don't like the prime minister, they can have a confidence vote and force him out. I wish we could do that. The only confidence I have in Dubya is that I'm confident he will screw up anything he tries, other than more tax cuts.
