Very brief, but an excellent starting point for understanding the United States' role in Iranian politics, starting from the 1950's till the mid-late 1980's. Your host is Bill Moyers. Not only does this go into the United States' covert policy of assassinating or overthrowing leaders which the Imperial "We" dislike but delves into the organizations which exist outside out government, Our Constitution, which the Imperial "We" use to execute such plans.

This is not only informative but worth watching if only for Bill Moyer's chilling warning that this (Iran Contra) could, and likely would happen again.
