Come On! We Can and Should do Better in Our DU "State Forums!"
Sunday Walk through of DU State Forums shows many old Posts/No Interest
in replying. What's wrong here? We have Mid-Term Elections coming up...we have lots of DU'ers from all states ...yet many posts on State Forums have NO REPLIES?

What's going on? Why are so many of us just "Slackers" when it comes to supporting the states we live in and for informing many Newbie Dems who come to this Forum looking for help and companionship in their states where they feel very much alone.

Couldn't we all make an effort to visit our State Forums on DU and post an item of intrest or at least reply to those who do seeing information who might be crossing over from the Repug Line?

Come ON! Let's get more friendly around here! We are becoming kind of insular....

3. the exception that proves the rule? never really understood that:
I agree about the state threads, we have to act locally in order to take back (for the first time) the house and senate. I say for the first time, because the change has to be more than just a democratic majority, they need to be ethical and strong, and unafraid of what the criminal opposition threatens them with.

Actions, and candidate information, and needs have to be listed there. Links, and pictures, etc.

my 2 cents;

5. Great idea
Massachusetts, the bluest state, has a very dull forum. There are 3-4 "regulars" and another 3-4 who post irregularly.

Posts dealing with Zinn, Chomsky and the parade of visitors to Harvard and MIT regularly fall by the wayside with narry a response.

We can do better.

6. Thanks for the motivation. I'm terrible about even checking
the "state" forums. I guess I'm still kinda new to DU and haven't put those ones on my "check regularly" list of habits.

I'm going there now.

7. Massachusetts on snooze....
Over 24 hours ago I posted to the Massachusetts forum a question about the three candidates for governor - "Who are these guys and why should I vote for one of them?" An important topic, in my opinion. Just two luke warm responses so far. Right now the most interesting person in the race might be Wendy Van Horne, running for Lt. Gov. on the Green/Rainbow ticket. Heck, it's Massachusetts - a Republican is going to win anyways, maybe I shouldn't even bother trying to learn about the Dems running...

13. 50 hours....
... still just two responses. Maybe Massachusetts dems figure "since a Republican is going to win anyways, why bother"?

9. Virginia is pretty active !
Must be the George Allen Senate challenger factor  and a wildly successful meetup discussion in Richmond this past weekend :toast:

A few months ago, I started a GD thread about having all the state forums check in and let us know "What's being discussed "right now" in your home forum?" Thought it might help advertise we all do have a home base on DU!

Dropped like a rock

10. Iowa is rocking!
Think we've doubled our posts in a year. For a 'small' state, I think we stand about 5th in total posts. We've got a close gubernatorial primary followed by the need to beat the noxious Jim Nussle for governor, great congressional races in the 1st & 2nd and possibly 3rd and 4th districts and some good local races.

How's it going out here in the blogsphere? :hi: Glad to see you wandering about!

Now, back home to post some more - see you soon?! :bounce:
