Why does Donald Sutherland come to mind when I think of Gen Hayden?
I'm not talking about the hair, lack of it or Donald Sutherland in particular. But in my opinion no one plays a misguided patriot better than that man - see Outbreak. Has anybody else seen movies where a Donald Sutherland (type) general who thinks he knows what best for the country ends up attempting to destroy american citizens in some misguided attempt to save the rest of the country? Maybe I drink too way too much, but I see something baaaaad happening with this guy in charge of the CIA.

1. You probably should be thinking about Bruce Willis
Go rent the movie The Siege, and the rest will reveal itself.

2. Why does Sterling Hayden come up when I think of Gen. Hayden?
Maybe it's just a strange love of mine.

4. Haaaha... I think he's played a few misguided generals or at least people
in charge himself.

6. He reminds me more of the Air Force officer in Twin Peaks.
This guy, Major Briggs:

It would fit -- the whole thing has gotten to be pretty Twin Peak-y anyhow.

12. That particular "part" aside, I have FAR too much respect for Sutherland
as an impeccable character actor...with a "voice" and timing Shakespeare would've envied.

Come to think of it, EXACTLY the "kind" of ACTOR (not THE actor, per se) needed to fill Goss' Role.
