Who will win the heart of the democratic party?
Those that embrace the new beligerent America or those that want to return to something similar before bush?

-snip-

"Bayh and others spoke at the launch of a collection of essays on national security policy published by the Progressive Policy Institute, the think tank associated with the Democratic Leadership Council. The sponsors challenged Democrats to resist policies advocated by what they called the "non-interventionist left" wing of their party while vigorously challenging what they call the "neo-imperial right" viewpoint of many in the Bush administration."

-snip-

"Many of us are disturbed by the calls for investigations or even impeachment as the defining vision for our party for what we would do if we get back into office," he said.

1. This is why I DON'T like the DLC

Stuff like this makes me want to throw up. You let the DLC take over the Democratic Party again and I will register as an Independent.

2. To be fair, the "as the defining vision" qualifier makes sense
However, to be clear, investigations are MANDATORY, which undoubtedly will lead to impeachment. The DLC better get used to that notion or STFU.

3. We can lead and investigate too.
I do not agree with the view that we should move on and ignore what has happened in the past.We are talking about an administration that went to war preemptively with possibly faulty or manipulated intelligence. The world opinion of our country has suffered, we have spent billions of dollars and most important, many, many lives have been lost. If we don't fully understand how we got where we are we may well find ourselves in this situation again. Frankly, how can they even suggest we just sweep this all under the rug and move on? We have a duty to get to the truth.

4. Someone needs to inform these clueless ...
Politico Corporate Elites that Democrats ain't buying it in Hillary or Lieberman. :puke:

These DLCers are as divorced from the average working American's true interests as their Republican *corporate allies* across the aisle. :P

Jobs (living wage)
Reasonable Gas Prices
Affordable and Quality Child Care
Alternative Energy development and affordable Hybrids, etc. etc.

7. we should re-name the DLC to reflect its reality . . .
"Leadership" is just s-o-o-o-o misleading . . .

let's call it the DCCS -- the Democratic Council of Corporate Stooges . . .

or maybe DIC -- the Democratic Irrelevancy Council . . .

8. No One , the battle lines are too deeply drawn
I doubt there IS anyone candidate who ALL Democrats will love. On Iraq alone, there is a fissure, which is deeper now than in 2004. Even then, although Kerry could speak to both sides, he didn't get the heart of the most anti-war or the most pro-war people in the party. Hillary will not get the hearts of the antiwar people, Feingold can't get the hearts of the Hillary segment.

10. I happen to catch Sen. Bye on C-Span yesterday.......
taking questions.

He sucks bigtime. I hope he's not running for President in '08, cause he is not going to make it... that is clear to me.

I didn't realize how Bland he was until then. You can't even see his eyes when he speaks....cause he closes them so that he can think.

I already knew the man was somewhat lame in terms of leadership and cajones.....but I didn't realize how utterly unimpressive he truly is in 3 dimension.

HE is disturbing with his impeachment denials. He doesn't need to promise shit....cause it won't be his call anyway. We already know that he's a scared rabbit, and will remain one even if we win back the senate!
