Enzi (S1955)and Durbin now on the floor(cloture motion )

Enzi talking about consideration of the Lincoln Durbin Small business health plans bill in addition to his own bill. Durbin asking for consideration of the stem cell bill, Enzi refuses. Enzi is saying something about allowing the Lincoln /Durbin to be considered with the Enzi Lose Your Health care bill. Durbin now asking for consideration of the medicare Rx deadline extension. Enzi says NO. He says deadlines are a marvelous thing.

Durbin objects and speaks out against Enzi and the Repugs refusal to consider stem cell, medicare deadline etc. Health care week is a sham.

Looks like they are preparing for the Lose your health care vote, once they get past the chess game.

I am against S1955 because, among other things,. S1955 would render useless state-enacted patient protections for eye and vision care, any-willing provider and insurance equality laws intended to protect health care providers and consumers. If enacted, S. 1955 would preempt all state mandated benefit legislation not just those that are specific to the eye and vision care.
