It doesn't matter why they die
They do it just the same
Asking only not to call
When actions are insane

Fighting wars
For many whores
That dwell
In what's DC.

On golden sand
The oil man
Deals freedom
By decree

It matters not
Why they fought
We all were led
Astray

Just like here
Blood and tears
For brothers
Who wore grey

Many rows
Of marking stones
Even
Johnny Reb

From boys in blue
To Jackson's crew
They Are
Our honored dead
