Dammit!! Dems are letting Libertarians like Scarborough Steal Our Message
Edited on Thu May-11-06 08:32 PM by KoKo01
on NSA Spying.

Joe (Pig/death to Laurie) Scarborough went after Pelosi saying "she was briefed on the "whole NSA Spying" deal and she comes out today ...after USA TODAY does an Investigative Report" and acts like she doesn't know what's going on.

I have to say...I find the Repuke Libertarians who have taken so long to Speak Out kind of pathetic...but MSNBC spends so much time Promoting them and they kind of say what this "Populist Dem DU'er" thinks that I have to listen.

But...they want to "drown Government and our Rights to Live a reasonable life" in Grover Norquist's Bathtub! To Libertarians ALL GOVERNMENT IS BAD! and they :puke: on it. YET........

So...WHY do they get so much airtime on "GE/MSNBC" to peddle there wares and WHY does it sound SO GOOD to this DEMOCRAT?

Scratching my head at fear of co-opting by Libertarians who allowed George II to Usurp the White House...but we don't hear from them until Iraq Screwed UP for them.....

5. Supposedly she was "Briefed" as Head of Dem House......
at this point it's hard to know WHAT to believe. If Dems were briefed why didn't they speak out when they saw the infringement on our RIGHTS?

Why do they still say...they are bound by "secrecy" not to divulge what went on in those briefings?
Maybe none of them knew what "DataMining/Spyware" is. But even clueless folks here on DU know what that is...and I didn't get my first computer until 1996...and had to depend on "tech savvy DU'ers" to help me with "Adaware and Spybot" as good programs to download to keep my "Dial Up" safe.

How clueless can these Dems be when I would be very clueless compared to most DU'ers.

6. She was briefed, and was not allowed to say
anything - I remember her saying that she was very disturbed by what she was told.

3. Scarborough's just a scared Repuke that follows the polls
and smells the scent of a turnaround in the wind. Suddenly he's a civil libertarian. Horseshit.

4. That man knows damn well...
that those on the intelligence committee or any other frigging committee that receive 'classified information' are forbidden by law, of talking about it to anyone not cleared to receive it.

7. What worries me is that if "I" or many DU'ers had been on that House
Intelligence Panel we would have been WHISTLE BLOWERS given that the Bushies are seeming to be Fascists who believe in an Empire with a new Napoleon at the helm. "Hail the Conquering Hero" seems to have swayed all of them to "cower in their bunkers." And that includes our Dems on the Senate side who didn't become "Whistle Blowers" when our Democracy was in Peril, either.

Maybe once one get's to DC the Beltway "Koolade" of Perks & Privilege is JUST TOO MUCH to OVERCOME.

What HAPPENS TO THESE PEOPLE that we few Dems go out and vote for faced with perils of voting machines and disenfranchisment that they "turn to the Dark Side."

I just don't get it.... A few million here and a few million there and one just has to hire more accountants to manage it or find new ways to spend it. It's not worth it to me...

9. I don't know what to think....
about the personalities in government, and the 'daily drama' discussed by the corporate media. I do think, that our collective history is about as accurate as MSNBC. As time goes by, my mind more and more entertains thoughts I never thought possible, about life, humanity...everything. This one is a good read...
Absolute Power-The Making of the New World Order
by Richard K. Moore
Toward Freedom magazine, May 1998
The dominant trend of our time is globalization, marked by elimination of trade barriers downsized governments, greater reliance on the private sector, reduced regulation of business, and an increasingly global economyMany people call that economic progress, but this form of globalization is actually political regression, threatening to destroy democratic institutions and revert to something resembling feudalism.
In some ways, the US is central to the process. It's the leading free trade proponent, and provides the primary military muscle to maintain global order. When the US president speaks on international issues, his words are taken seriously. Yet, the US isn't the primary beneficiary of globalization, and doesn't appear to be exploiting its advantage in the traditional fashion.
The reason should be obvious: Globalization isn't about competition among nations, it's about the increasing power of mega-corporations over nations. In effect, the US government acts as a proxy for elite corporate interests, not as a representative of its people or even national interests in any conventional sense. Although sovereign national states are the Familiar World Order, globalization is leading us inexorably toward a New World Order where mega-corporations (and the wealthy elite who control them) reign supreme, while nations are reduced to a vestigial, subservient, policing role-as seen in much of the Third World.

The US has a unique role only partly due to its position as the dominant military power. It also reflects the fact that, compared to other First-World countries, it's the most thoroughly captured by megacorp interests. And the US people, in their habitual credulity, are the most effectively mesmerized by media mythology. It's almost a "safe house" for NWO operations.

Richard K Moore, a former software developer, lives in Ireland, where he is developing a book on globalization and moderates cyberjournal@cpsr org

10. Nice post...and I agree.........
Have you read anything by our Dem POPULIST David Sirota who is emerging as a New Voice against Globilization here in the US. He's got a new book: "Hostile Takeover."

I think the voices taking another look at NAFTA and the Dem Leadership Council policies of the Clinton Era are worth listening to. I've kind of had it with the "Old Way," that once seemed the "New Way" for Dems.

I think there will be many of us Dems and some Repugs who are disgusted with it all and trying to find a way out of this mess and chaos..

Thanks for the link and post.

8. They just recycle from the left
The left has been bashing Pelosi on this for a long time. It's politics. They'll bash Democrats any way they can, whether there's truth in it or not. Never mind that Democrats have been trying to get hearings and investigations into the spying since the story first broke, the Republicans aren't going to remind you of that. They also aren't going to remind you that Pelosi wasn't allowed to say anything about it, it would have been treason. It's YOUR job to be smarter than they are and REMEMBER the facts and what Democrats have been doing instead of jumping on the anti-Dem bandwagon.

11. When did Scarborough become a Libertarian? He's GOP through
and through. He's been bought by the GOP because of one too many dead interns in his office. He made a deal with the devil to get out of that investigation.
